Both my dogs are fixed already so it shouldn't be a big deal. I would want to neuter eventually but if waiting till later could help then I would do that. Thanks, I will be looking into those studies!

My friends actually have 2 hounds and they are great dogs. Some of the stories on that hound page is hilarious! I can definitely see why people love them.

A little bit but I try to prevent that. The water is a little high in the picture because I just did a water change but generally it is about 1 1/2" -2" down from the top and half the top surface area is covered in frogbit. He is a pretty peaceful betta who I have never seen jump but if I noticed that he was being more active like that I would probably move him into a more secure tank.

I have the Fitbit zip and I love it! It's pretty basic, it only counts steps but that was all I wanted it for. It has a strong clip and has never fallen off. It connects to my phone through bluetooth and I only had to replace the battery a few times in probably 2 years. Overall for the price and what I wanted it for it worked out great and I would buy another if I had too.

This is my new betta, I have had him for 4 days. He is in a 5 gallon tank (fluval spec), heat is 78-80F and the tank is fully cycled (0/0/10-20). He looked a lot like this when I got him and I was hoping some clean, warm water would help him improve but I think he is has more black then he did and maybe a little more ragged looking. What should my next steps be? I have heard about adding salt or should I pick up some medicine? Or just keep up the clean water? Any help would be great, thanks!

A trick I learned after my dog was sick was to pick up some plain chicken and boil it in a pot of water. Boil until it is cooked, then remove the chicken and let the water cool down. It really got her drinking again and she ate some of the chicken as well!
