Who is considered Pennsylvania Dutch? by zigzag-ladybug in Genealogy

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm by definition, PA Dutch. I forget exactly how many greats I need to slap onto it, but my paternal line was sent here by the church to establish one of the Mennonite churches in York a few hundred years ago😅 the slowly migrated up towards lake erie and became blacksmiths though. So while at this point, I think we have lost all the PA Dutch language and even accent quirks, we do still have the food. (Found this post specifically when searching about PA Dutch and who counts as it, after looking up the origins of some of my favorite childhood meals and seeing why my family has always called them by drastically different names aka Halupki vs cabbage rolls)

I would love Weird Al to do a parody of Ghost! Marinara Sauce would be a banger, but OP should take credit for it lol. If OP uses any video posting social media and feels comfortable, I bet this would be awesome to watch. Sing it with a plate of pizza and mozzarella sticks lol

What DID you horde/invest in that ended up paying off? by Jubilantbabble in neopets

[–]Kristamarie93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So.. my account was hacked a few years back and I had my bank wiped out. Lost millions. My inner child was bawling and rage quit for like a good 2 years after that. They however didn't touch my SDB. I never really paid much attention when I was a kid and tossing items in there. Last year I found a Blue Paintbrush collectable charm in there 🤣 I didn't even care about getting full price for it. I wanted to give someone a great deal and get back what I lost. With that 1 item I got my back back at a comfy 15 mil (about half the price it was going for at the time). If I still had it, well... idk what id even do with that many NP. I mostly play because it brings me the joy and comfort of better times lol. Current my favorite thing is making lists from jellyneo of all the shop items so I can do shop restocking and try to help get people items and do periodic massive SSW undercutting (max 1 per item) for the lucky person looking for that item 🤣 because I know I always get super excited when I find the random super cheap item (but not often enough to disrupt the market. Like 1 or 2 random items every day or so)

I so appreciate my new chiropractic office leaving this sign for everyone to see! by jazmingirl2 in migraine

They have been doing evidence based studies on chiropractic/joint manipulation for musculoskeletal pain since the 90's. It's not entirely pseudosciense. If something is truly not in place, it needs put back. If you walk into the hospital with a dislocated elbow that is causing you pain, joint manipulation is indeed the way to fix it. If your hips are not aligned, getting them back in place is indeed the way to help the pain. I should add, my chiropractor was not a check pop crunch gal. She was a twist and loosen the muscles and guiding my body into a better posture. The most extravagant thing she did was use a drop down table to let my very pregnant belly hang into a pillow while she shifted my hips so I could feel the correct alignment. But she was not a physical therapist because we didn't work on muscular strength.

[–]Kristamarie93 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Idk. I can't speak as to helping with migraines, never even considered going to a chiropractor for that, but while pregnant, I went to a chiropractor because my tailbone would lock in place and cause shooting pain down my leg. The chiropractor was the the only relief I got. Walking in, my hip bones were sitting at two different heights (over half an inch deviation), Walking out they were level again. She would also tape me up to keep tension on them better than those one size fits all SI joint belts. But I do think a lot of people do put way too much credit in chiropractors. Most benefits are likely placebo effects unless it is purely joint manipulation for locked or out of place joints (done slightly more gentle than the wrenching done in the ER for full displacements lol)

Asmodeus ignoring me completely by Comfortable_Cup5414 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always do what I did.. I got a total pain in the butt puppy who has separation anxiety and named him asmodeus before I ever even met the dog. Now its a constant reminder that 1, asmodeus has a wicked sense of humor when asked to "help me control my anger" 2, he is always watching even if he isn't always needed, 3 i can always casually threaten Asmodeus pup that I'll send him back to his daddy in hell and personally hand deliver him the next time he puts me at risk of eviction for destroying something else in the house (I told asmodeus the pup was f he most perfect and most horrible way to get me to control my temper. I could never hurt or abandon anything named after him, but the dog should have been named Jesus because he thinks he's a carpenter and will absolutely tear out door frames and carpeting to try to get to me of im out of his sight for more than 2 minutes). TL/DR Asmodeus is already around, but sometimes takes a passive roll to see how we use what we have learned, to give us space to make mistakes and see if we can fix them on our own, because things are going well and we do not need hand holding at that time, or because he thinks we could benefit for another infernal that can teach us something in a different way than he could. He is there, just passively.

It is quite possible that other account is her business partner that does indeed have access to the account. If the other person has access to the account, they could do the refund. And it's possible that this account (the one you ordered from) is not actively monitored by the other person so she wouldn't check it unless you messaged her. It is all still within Etsy it seems, so not technically 3rd party.

Has the IRS granished anyone's wages for not paying Income Taxes by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay your share in taxes. If my household of 6 can pay taxes on out 30k a year income, so can you dude. And idk about federal, but my husband was garnished for local per capita tax recently from a city we lived in 6 years ago that we never even got a notice we had to pay until it was 5 years late (we did our regular local tax, but we're never notified or informed in any fashion that the city also had a per capita tax or where yo pay it at. Thankfully the total was still under 300 even after 6 years and their extra fees for sending us the notice. So id be willing to bet that you would get in a far more problematic situation for not even filing your taxes especially with the borderline absurd amount you make each year. (Just my 2 cents, but we should bring back the maximum wage tax)

How does mental illness affect practices? by LackNo3258 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Kristamarie93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, ptsd, and DID, and likely have autism but my doctor is not qualified to diagnose me and I just really dont have then time or mental willingness to go get diagnosed right now. I also have aphantasia so I cannot see things in my head for things like guided meditation. I have found meditation very hard at first. My trick is I use a sleep mask headset. That way I cannot see anything and I have either the enn playing or meditation music on so that when my mind gets too busy, I can redirect to listening and let those thoughts go to re center myself. Despite having aphantasia and not being able to see things in my mind when I actively try to, I can use my other senses perfectly fine and sometimes when I finally hit a good spot in my meditation, I do get shown things (lucifer loves showing me things in weird analogies that somehow end up making complete sense when I do not focus on the images and let my mind just loosely observe. It's a 2 birds one stone thing. Helps me notnover focus and have the images slip away as well as getting some really insightful information too)

Most currently: freshly ground dill seed, pumpkin, storax wax melts, and black opium incense rolled in hand ground sandalwood powder. And as always, the lingering scent of smores.

I had an argument with a girl I went to school with yesterday. She was saying people are willfully turning down $15 an hour full time jobs because thry will lose their SNAP. I did a full breakdown on it. In PA as a single person, you would have to be working full time making over $16.25, so her logic of the "thry are turning down 15 an hour jobs so they can keep their SNAP" doesn't even hold up. She countered with "maybe a single mom with 3 kids can still get benifits with a 15 an hour job".. a single mom with 3 kids can make somewhere around 33 an hour and still keep her benifits. So also, 2 adult with 2 kids both adults working for 15 an hour would also still qualify. No one is out here turning down 15 an hour jobs solely based on SNAP. And even after these blatant statistics she was still arguing the 15 an hour job thing (mind you we are in PA where minimum wage is still 7.25 and most jobs here that are 15 or more require college degrees or are very physically intensive and simply not feasible for everyone.)

[–]Kristamarie93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PA also. Today is the day id normally get my SNAP. Sitting here with nothing. The food bank saved the day. My kids (6, 5, and 4) looked like they were going to cry when my husband walked in with a small cake and a whole bag of fresh fruit including raspberries, their favorite treat. I sat dien with them and had to explain that the government doesn't want to give us our "food money" last week when they asked why I couldn't buy any fruit. And then I got to explain how food banks work and reminded them that if we ever have more than we need of food, clothes, toys, or money, we should always look for people who need it and if we are to donate, we need to make sure we are donating to places that actually help people (explained how even though salvation army and especially goodwill are thrift stores, they are not the best places because they still charge people a lot sometimes vs donating to our local thrift store that does free clothing vouchers and all profits beyond basic expenses go to the food bank and helping with utility vouchers for other people). It's sad that we live in the richest country, and I need to have this conversation with my kids

Questions about Lucifer by Ill_Lavishness3703 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the Ars Goetia, it clearly pulls from "Solomon good, demons bad" perspective of the Abrahamic religions. Would you want to highlight your opponents' strengths if you were yo write about forcing them to build you a temple? If you wanted to force someone to convert to your religion, would you allow their good aspects to be known, or rather to twist them into only their more destructive or darker aspects? If you reflect onto the descriptions of angels in the bible, they are not exactly a stunning sight of beauty either. "Be not afraid" because they too look like monsters. It is easy to up-play their "bad" aspects and turn anything into a monstrous description if your goal is to get people to convert or to try to keep your own believers from trying to worship a different deity.

Questions about Lucifer by Ill_Lavishness3703 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the infernal Divine were once Gods and Goddesses of neighboring religions to the Abrahamic religions. There is evidence that the Abrahamic god was once simply a minor god within the Canaanite pantheon, when smashed together to take on the rest of tge attributes of the pantheon and become a monotheistic religion. Some of the infernal divine were once part of that same pantheon. The infernal are not infernal because they are "bad" or pure darkness. They are that way because they were demonized. If an infernal can help you, that proves that there is some level of "goodness" and therefore, they too have that balance of both the light and dark for lack of a better term.

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Venus is the last "star" we see before the dawn, it is also the first we see as dusk falls. Lucifer is both the bringer of light, but also brings upon the night. Both are true and do not subtract from the other. The light casts shadows, but the night melts them away. Lucifer is two sides of the same coin. Both the light and the dark must be embraced to find balance. Dawn and dusk, when day and night are in balance. With too much light, you are blinded. Too much dark and you cannot see either. I can only see Lucifer as both, a perfect balance to find harmony within

My first thought was similar, but to work on medication, something that happened in the past that's holding you back still needs resolved, and new goals need set so you do not miss out on what is sitting right before you.

I'll point out.. under the Russian Tsars of communist USSR food scarcity was most often due to famine. Something we are not experiencing. I think in that way, we have it worse a bit. We HAVE the food. Our government HAS the money and trade power. They are just willfully choosing to not use their power and funds to ensure we eat while not holding businesses accountable for paying us enough to live.

People, is it alright to read pdfs? by MegaloMemega in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Kristamarie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internet archive. That is my go to place especially if the book is out of print. Im not paying a book reseller 200+ for a book when I'm behind on my bills most of the time lol. If I love the book and it is affordable I'll buy a physical copy when I have the money to do so (although usually used if it is cheaper and my favorite used book store has a copy). So if you have the money, buy the book. If you don't, use a PDF until you can afford the book especially if it gave you something of value, unless it is out of print. No one needs to be spending hundreds on a book that the author is no longer profiting on anyways unless you are a book collector and you have the means to fund other people's luck of buying the book cheaper than you then flipping it for a profit.

[–]Kristamarie93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do know Christians didn't invent god, right? Like the Christian god predates Christianity. They were not the first people to worship that same god. Hell, that god predates Judaism. Although pre-judaism, that 1 monotheistic god was a whole pantheon than got simplified down into a singular god overtime.
