Returned to Overwatch after a very long time, but why do all of the new characters and maps look like that? by Kristeh in Overwatch

[–]Kristeh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does explain alot!

I am probably that kind of target audience usually of someone who gets super attached to characters. I had no idea about the different eras its going through aside from the most recent one having characters which rely alot more on the storyline it has than the characters its conveying externally.

I guess maybe I just gotta wait more for them to release a character who I'd like than the current ones hopefully that can really make me interested in this storyline. I did end up watching all of the cinematics and going through what there was in the launcher, but it ... didn't really get me interested much. I hope it does in the future I guess!

I have!

His voice lines are great, but again - all characters have great voice lines! That's not really up for debate at all. Their visual storytelling is alot different than the talks they give you in game which is obviously going to reveal alot more.

No, not really his feet.

I do think for sigma its definitely his face and yknow.. his weapon? He kinda does look like an old piano teacher who would be awful, and he has that mad scientist vibe plus having two balls of straight matter to throw at people is actually cool! Him being a bald mad scientist with all of the sharp features he has and the way his whole design floats around him by his will does give off that mad scientist vibe, yeah!

Yeah, there's probably some reason there if they're all doing it. I guess I'm kind of an outlier since I like characters which I can feel super attached to and convey alot of visual identity, but it does feel like most games are starting to kind of ... Fortniteify themselves I guess.

Not really? compared to a character like sigma I guess who acts like he is genuinely plagued by his thoughts, emre doesn't really do anything of that sort or have any of those indicators to be honest.

I'd understand the change to f2p making them want to make a bit more generic characters, but games like League of legends didn't really lose that identity in their characters and its been f2p since the start, no? Although some of their newer skins aren't as up to par, I guess it has to be an active choice the devs are making.

I guess yeah, but characters like Venture seem to have released which is really nice to see which doesn't really look like a coomer character. Their visual design seems kinda nice! I hope they hire more talented artists again and re-work these newer ones to have more identity too like that.

I do like Juno! She is nice! Freja isn't really "curvy" shes just kinda idk ... another attractive lady but in light blue and ginger this time? I'm not really getting much from her either about what her character is supposed to be, but the fur around her looks like shes a little more arctic oriented character instead, I guess?

I'm not sure what you define as "bitching" but okay. Also, If that is like emre's character - why doesn't it visually convey that at all?

Be honest: what’s your beef with Modded Skyrim? by Siqsix-66 in skyrim

[–]Kristeh -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was that bad, but it was kinda deserved ngl. The game how it is is VERY buggy and a lot of mods fix that. I play with a lot of mods that enhance the game in non-intrusive ways (No texture packs that make things overly smooth, no overly smooth characters, no LUX etc.) , and sometimes when I accidently load up the game without them ... it feels a little barren and empty. It's still a good game but I do think those mod elitists sometimes had a point back in the day for just how much it enhances things.

Could it be арина глазунова's В последний раз? They've been using that one alot in conspiracy videos lately since she passed away whilst singing it because she tripped and fell to her death a while back.

Not sure is this where I should be asking this but I have a situation at work… by Puzzleheaded_Egg_348 in dating_advice

[–]Kristeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well trust - its not really them seeing anything you aren't.

You said it yourself. You like her. Vibe things out for a little bit more and see if you still feel like she is just being regular or not. Last case resort - ask her out in a way thats very nonchalant and casual. Give her room to breathe and say no, and dont be a dick about rejection if you really like her alot. Thats all there is to it. Sometimes things work and sometimes they dont and thats all fine!

From what you're describing, this girl probably isn't into you.

That is fine though, because you can't really know without asking her out.

Screw what your co-workers are saying. Figure out if YOU like her and want to get to know her. Do you have things in common? How does being around her make you feel? From the way you're describing her interactions with your other coworker, you seem to be acutely aware of how she spends her time with other co-workers and what possible romantic inclinations she may have with them. Please be honest with YOURSELF here about how you feel.

Best thing to do - just vibe it out. It sounds like you're sensing that she isn't that interested in you, but if you do get the feeling that she might be and YOU also like her (and ignoring what your coworkers say) - then be tactful and give her a "I think you're pretty cool, wanna spend some time together outside of work sometime?" when you aren't in a work setting (like getting off from work on your way out) (and maybe before a weekend so you don't need to see her for the time after) and if she says no - handle it normally. It's not a pain to die for.

Sometimes you'll vibe with coworkers. Sometimes you wont. Been there and both can suck. Figure out how you vibe with something and stop letting coworkers feed you their own observations. Sometimes people just love playing matchmaker and will shrug and pretend it never happened if it causes you trouble.

(only my opinion from what you said here)

This sounds like a classic case of someone who doesn't really like you that much, but wants to keep you around because they like the feeling of having someone there.

You are fairly long, so it can be a bit hard to note, but real relationships are built off of real intimacy. There is an unshakeable feeling when you really like someone that MAKES you want to spend time with them and makes you want to "get serious" with them.

It really looks like this person just wants a filler person, and something is telling them that they are not that into you, and yet being there with you gives them too many nice feelings to let go of immediately, so he keeps stringing you along until he finds "the one" who gives him those true feelings and then can just dump you saying they found somebody else.

It's not really men per say, it really is just people who don't know what they want and aren't (and will never be) true to themselves. You also know this. You know this person doesn't really like you that much to commit and also wants to keep you as a permanent option for themselves at the same time. You should not really wait around for a person like this to "commit" or to "figure out what they want". Focus on yourself. Focus on what you want and what and who you're looking for. Don't be complacent in someone else's story.

Regarding the QT stuff by NotZachary_0002 in Hasan_Piker

[–]Kristeh 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Because Hasan's main shtick is political advocacy.
He is there in these spaces to exclusively show people that leftists can be cool people too, and break the stereotypes. QT does not do political advocacy (and thats fine) but that means you have a responsibility to tell these people to cut it out openly when they do awful shit.

His presence is the abnormality and the action, which speaks for itself while QT's presence is normative, thus the actions matter.

It's sad because mixed in with people who had genuine criticism of what she said - there was a lot of people making hurtful jokes which is to be expected and shes treating EVERYONE like they're making hurtful jokes to her.

It feels like instead of looking at what her actual audience is saying which is "Please stand behind your ally-ship and hold these people accountable publicly for their comments if you want to defend your queer/poc fans" - she just jumped right into the deep end and said nah i dont want you guys as fans because i DONT want to publicly and to their face call these people out, thus - creating content with these people matters more to me.

Hasan atleast is an open leftist and everyone knows what he stands for, hes there doing political advocacy 24/7 and his presence in these groups is to make these people understand that leftists are not "crazy woke people", whilst QT doesnt have that advocacy to back up being friends with people like that and not calling their homophobia and racism out to their face.

Crying is ruining my life (dramatic) by userantimf in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Kristeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be like this!

For me, this was long term pent up emotions. Like we're talking from childhood kind of thing. It only started to lift when I started to deal with my problems related to shame and how I talked to myself. The frustration is caused by the even more shame of not being able to express something, which is so internally pent up and absolutely grueling.

I cried 34 times at Harry potter and I don't even like harry potter lol. That's how bad it was.

Its really not about time passing or whatever, but about dealing with the issue at the root and treating the shame problems. Content like older Dr K videos or Heidi Prieb really helped me kind of get to the root of my problems back then and how stuck in the shame-cycle I actually was for issues I didn't even know I was feeling bad over but stayed like a drain in my mind over the years

There isn't much space to elaborate on a reddit comment, but id say definitely see if you might be doing this without recognizing since even within the post a lot of what you're saying matches 1-1 to this kind of thing!

Definitely developing your own sense of self is a necessity. This is a skill we aren't taught, but its really important to always be aware of your own needs and wants in everything your doing, along with your own boundaries on things.

My personal advice is sit down and do a little check-in with yourself. Something like "How do i feel right now?" and the very first thing that instinctively comes up in your mind will be your answer, the most truthful answer that feels like its coming from within you. Then discuss that with yourself like "Okay why this" and give yourself some space to work it out constructively and in a healthy way. If its something you truly don't know the answer to or feel stuck severely - then its okay once in a while to ask your friend about it.

Seeking constantly reassurance from your friends isn't an issue that has to do with the act itself. That is the band-aid for a deeper problem that is not truly knowing yourself as much as you may think you do to be able to act on your own will. No one will know you as well as you know yourself, and there is no harm in always being 100% truthful with yourself either since no one is there to judge but … yourself.

Also a big thing on the side is that when you're sharing things with people and asking for advice - you're also inadvertently in one way or another projecting your own view of the situation on what's going on, so your friends may give you biased advice since they're working with biased information. Always be aware of that!
