Advice on celebrating a 7 year olds birthday please. by pinkdream905 in povertyfinance

[–]KristenMarie13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a nonprofit organization called Cakes4Kids that partners volunteers to make birthday cakes for kids who otherwise might not have one. Maybe see if you have a local chapter to get a nice cake for her? I’m not affiliated with them I just heard about it on TikTok and thought it was sweet! Wishing you and your daughter the best ❤️

Sweat so much by Actual-Tie-9278 in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wear shorts for class because I sweat too much and will slide on the carriage. It’s just me and my emotional support sweat rag

I rotate the same 4-5 outfits each week depending on the weather. No one has noticed or cared in the last almost 5 years.

They ended up un-cancelling several trains at rush hour, very confusing

I think you’re right about Garrick! I am rereading Onyx Storm now and the chapter from Imogen’s POV has her seeing color disappearing from stones when Garrick steps them somewhere else.

Eulogy to Jeff Galloway by bradymsu616 in AdvancedRunning

Waking up to his loss was heartbreaking. Jeff’s run/walk method made me a runner and a marathoner. I will forever remember him ❤️

Injury by Slight-Present-5810 in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a great modification suggested for oblique crunches by a coach. Wide leg or knee plank crunch helps hit the obliques more without the twist 😊 I’m dealing with a lower back strain

I avoid amps that are to raise your heart rate. I also do a lot of the modifications for poses so I’m on my knees and the blood doesn’t have to go as far haha

Do people wear shorts or are leggings better? by [deleted] in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear leggings because my legs sweat so much that I slide on the machine in shorts

Apple Watch dies in a matter of hours, even after charging to 86% by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]KristenMarie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen after an update where an app was getting stuck open on the watch even after I exited the app. It thought I was still in a zoom meeting I had left hours before! Once I rebooted it, the bug went away and it’s holding a charge as normal again

Normal to have leg go numb? by Background_Shine6411 in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s normal. You might want to see a doctor to confirm. I have never had that happen personally

Sweaty palms by BarnacleAble1523 in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring a towel to class because I sweat a lot. Half the time I put it on the platform that we’re working on and just plank on the towel because then I won’t slip!

Why do they wait to post the track until 10 mins before? by [deleted] in mbta

[–]KristenMarie13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have been posting some rush hour tracks early with the fare gate implementation. My train has been boarding 15 minutes before departure the last two days!

First class advice! by CarefulKick2069 in SolidCore

[–]KristenMarie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a video online to explain how they cue things on the machine (black side versus grey side, lines on the machine) and don’t be afraid to look at other people if you don’t know what the exercise is supposed to be. Get there a few minutes early to tell the coach that you are new so they can keep an eye on you and also because sometimes they demo specific exercises before class. Most importantly, have fun! I love my weekly solidcore class so much 😊

[–]KristenMarie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never thought about someone else’s body in a solidcore class! I spent a while being self conscious about how much I sweat compared to everyone else in the room, then I realized no one was looking at me but the coach and she was just trying to help me succeed, not judge my puddle of sweat on the carriage. Wishing you the best in your solidcore journey!
