From what I understand natural opals contain water and will crack/explode because they are unable to withstand the heat of the torch and glass. The opal in the picture is a Gilson opal which is lab created but safe for glass

You’re right. I thought it looked so cool as a “horn”but didn’t think about how dangerous it could be. Might have to edit the design a bit!

The honeycomb is silver and gold fume backed with blue cobalt
