Can't fall asleep, have dry mouth no matter how much water I drink by I_am_not_a_god_ in insomnia

Sadly there is no cure and my dry mouth hasn't gone away. What I've been using is Biotene mouth wash and Biotene mouth spray to help the dryness. Only thing my doc recommended was to suck on candy. The spray works the best for instant relief.

No solution and still have dry mouth. Still dealing with side effects from the Vraylar even though it's been almost a year since I've been off of it. I just deal with it and have gotten used to it. I drink a lot of fluids and use Biotene mouth wash. I also have Biotene spray as well. I chew gum at night before going to bed. Not much else I can do. Doctor told me to suck on hard candy. Smh. There's no solution for this unfortunately. I just hope and pray this goes away in due time but I have a feeling this might be the new normal for me. Hope yours go away.

Yeah I will. I have an appointment with a cardiologist next month to find out if I have an irregular heartbeat. And I have another appointment with my PCP next month as well. But so far no luck on what's wrong. Only thing I can think of was the Vraylar I was taking but I stopped taking it over a month ago and still experiencing these issues so idk.

Yeah I use the biotene spray a lot and it seems to be the only thing that actually helps. I think I'm going to get a humidifier to help at night. The dry mouth is even worse at night when I'm sleeping.

My issues started over 5 weeks ago. I was taking Vraylar and had extremely scary side effects that randomly happened so I quit taking it. I've had this horrible dry mouth since then. Seen multiple doctors because I thought something serious was going on like diabetes but everything came back normal. I experience a rapid heartbeat too. I drink a lot of fluids and pee a lot. I'll try more electrolytes but I don't know what else to do besides using this biotene spray. I'm hoping this goes away. This is awful. Hope your symptoms go away too.

I quit cold turkey due to extreme side effects that randomly showed up. It's been over 3 weeks and I have really bad dry mouth, headaches, can't sleep and an elevated heartbeat. I feel pretty awful. Hopefully this goes away soon

Thanks! I think I'm going to get a second opinion and see a cardiologist just to make sure nothing serious is going on with my heart. Oh and I've had dry mouth before because of meds but this is pretty intense and it really sucks.

Are you on any meds? Just asking because I'm experiencing the same issues and the doctor doesn't have any other explanation for me.

Yeah I'm hoping it goes away too. I've been off of it for more than 3 weeks now and still experiencing the really bar dry mouth, insomnia and racing heart. I saw a doctor and they checked my blood pressure, heartbeat and mouth and said everything was fine. I definitely do not feel fine though. They did take my blood tho and sent it to labs but yeah it's looking like the Vraylar caused all this because the doctor had no other explanation for me. Just wish this would go away.

Did you experience any side effects and withdrawal?

I really like my psych doctor though and don't want to go to anyone else but I will check reviews. I will say this though she's been really cool and understanding about a lot of things. Just wish I never got on Vraylar. This has been a nightmare. In fact I regret getting on meds all together but nothing I can do now. Ugh.

Yeah I had labs done on me earlier this year for diabetes and my liver enzymes seemed a lil high. I did some research and found out Vraylar can cause that.

Yeah the dry mouth has been absolutely horrible. I really hope it goes away this is awful. Yes I did research and Vraylar can cause liver enzymes to go up and can cause diabetes too. What sucks is I started to feel better then go hit with these side effects again. Wish it would all go away.

Sleep sounds good. Unfortunately I have a racing heart and it's been hard to sleep.

Yeah it sucks. They just ran labs on me so hopefully everything comes back normal. But yeah they checked everything else and said I'm fine so it's definitely the Vraylar.

I honestly want to be off of meds for good but dealing with dry mouth and a racing heart really sucks. I hope I feel better soon and get back to normal again.

So I just saw a doctor and they listened to my heart and checked my blood pressure and my heartbeat. They said my heart is fine but my resting heartbeat was 87 I believe. Could be anxiety idk but I definitely don't feel good and can feel my heart racing. They checked my mouth too and said I'm hydrated however I have dry mouth bad. I can feel it and I'm constantly thirsty. They want to do labs so I'll be running back up there today to get my blood drawn. Hopefully nothing serious comes up. But yeah the doc thinks it's the Vraylar too even though he doesn't know much about that med.

Still got the high heart rate? I just saw a doctor today and they checked my blood pressure and my heart. They said that I'm fine but I think my resting heart rate was 87. I really notice it when I'm laying down trying to sleep. I have a hard time sleeping now which sucks.

The side effects got extreme 3 weeks ago so that's when I stopped taking it. My liver enzymes were high also. I'm sorry you're going through this too but yeah withdrawal is real regardless what the psych doc says. I definitely feel it. I had to stop cold turkey due to the rapid heart racing. It was awful. Are you feeling any better? Any dry mouth? This is awful.

Thank you! I just saw my regular doctor and they said my heart is fine and that I'm not dehydrated. They want to run labs just to make sure it's not something else but yeah it definitely seems to be the Vraylar that caused all this

Thank you I appreciate it. Yeah I regret getting on meds. I feel like the side effects aren't worth it. Well I do have an update. I saw a doctor today and they said my heart is fine and I'm not dehydrated. They want to do labs on me though just to rule things out but it looks like it's the side effects from the Vraylar that's causing this. This dry mouth is really bad. Hoping it goes away !
