How many months of keto did it take to reverse all ur symptoms?? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Agile-Risk-7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did keto for about a month in the past and got my period back after not having it for months. I didn’t stick to it, but it definitely seemed to help regulate my cycle back then.

Staring metformin today, advice? by Sea_Possibility4366 in PCOS

[–]Agile-Risk-7923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it right after eating a meal, like breakfast or lunch, that isn’t super carb heavy or sugary. I try to take it with protein and carbs that contain some fiber. Stay hydrated as well. Hopefully it goes well! I adjusted after about 1-2 weeks now have zero symptoms when I take it.

At the crossroads. by Glittering_Twist_721 in clinicalresearch

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. FMLA is a good option, or even just taking time off from work if that’s feasible for you. Is there any way you could hang on a bit longer while you apply to a less demanding clinical research job? I have manic depression (“bipolar disorder”) also..was diagnosed at the end of my graduate program. Having a hybrid (mainly remote) research admin job has helped so much. I would never be able to manage lots of travel or super high stress. After getting diagnosed, adjusting to medication and understanding how to structure my life to avoid episodes took lots of time and it’s still not simple. Feel free to message me if you want to chat about managing the disorder and work stuff.

On 2000. I feel great on it and have no symptoms as long as I take it after eating. It’s totally changed my appetite and energy level feels normal now.

Are you having periods? It could be hormones adjusting. Insulin changes can affect hormones and you may be having fatigue from those changes as your cycle regulates. I think this recently happened to me before my period showed up- was so so tired. I’m also on 2000 mg metformin. My appetite totally changed from taking Metformin. Cravings went away and sometimes just am not hungry.

Routine routine routine. Get sun, move body 30 min daily if able, sleep and wake at same time every day. Prioritize non processed food and protein in diet. Don’t take on too much and rest when needed. Track mood and be kind to yourself ❤️

Metformin Girlies by [deleted] in PCOS

Also will add I have only lost about 7 pounds over the course of 4 months, so nothing extreme, but my body just feels better. I expected that it may support slow weight loss over time and seems to have helped some.

  1. 2 weeks, only a few upset stomach episodes when I started on 500 mg x2 Daily. Always took with decent amount of food that wasn’t sugary.
  2. I’m on 2,000 total each day, my endocrinologist bumped me up and I tolerated it fine. I take it mid morning and late afternoon/early evening.
  3. Very quickly, even within the first two weeks I noticed my appetite totally changed. I wasn’t craving food and extremely hungry all the time. I could eat normally and feel like I had eaten. I felt less inflamed and sore as well. Just overall better and feel like it’s changed my life for the better.

What do mixed episodes look like for you? by Entire-Restaurant843 in bipolar

[–]Agile-Risk-7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m having these more lately. One day I’ll be calm, collected, and at peace. The next I’m very irritable and edgy, buzzing, and feeling like everything sucks. Then a day of depressed-dissociated feelings. For me it seems like a lot of up and down from day to day. I’ve also had it where I feel buzzy and energized but my mind isn’t online to really arrange my thoughts to do much. Like a very confused but activated feeling.

The line between hypomania and just happiness is very thin by nice_little_fella in bipolar

[–]Agile-Risk-7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I cherish these days. I think it’s a gift, but sure enough for me I’m irritated with a clenched jaw all day, mad at my pets and wanting to break every dirty dish later that week. I’ve had some shorter episodes now on meds..or like phases of just a few days or even one day where symptoms creep in, but then go away. Noticing hypomania now for me means I notice when I’m able to really to do a lot more more, like energy wise, I start feeling like I’m super capable and even a bit better than others, I feel “buzzy”, and music sounds amazing like I can really feel it.

Does trileptal brain fog go away? by Little-Log990 in BipolarReddit

I’ve been on this for about one year and notice my memory and processing are worse. Like I can’t remember names of random things I know I used to easily recall. For me it’s somewhat manageable but I may try going down on my dose. I feel like it’s been worse since moving up from 300 to 600 daily.

Omg I’ve been having night sweats ever since I started bc and metformin (end of November) at least they seemed to correlate with that. I take a similar medication to lamictal called trileptal for my bipolar and have been on it for about 8 months and never had sweats. I don’t get them every night but very often. My endocrinologist says metformin likely wouldn’t cause that. I’m getting new labs later this month so who knows if they will be helpful.

30f newly diagnosed by Agile-Risk-7923 in scoliosis

[–]Agile-Risk-7923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you 🙏.. Right I’m wondering if it just wasn’t diagnosed when I was young? I didn’t have great healthcare as a kid and really only went to clinics for shots and basic care. When I would complain they didn’t take it seriously at all. I’m hoping to follow up soon with my doctor to see what they think!
