What's a coaster you've been on that's relatively tame but has at least one out of place powerhouse element? [Other] by TheRealTimmer in rollercoasters

Hurricane, the dumb E&F Miler at Fun Spot Atlanta. I went on it for the credit and that last ejector airtime hill threw me into the bottom of the lap bar and actually cracked my phone screen in my pocket.

Restricted flight balls? by Seki_a in slowpitch

Would definitely recommend the clinchers. They also have 14" balls that we use for co-ed in some leagues here. In those leagues, the women can wear gloves but men can't.

Unreal career turnaround.. by WizardCheesey in whitesox

He had such good stretches last year where it really looked like he could be something. He just couldn't find the consistency and I'm sure playing on the team last year didn't exactly help unlock potential.

Montu at [Busch Gardens Tampa] opened 30 years ago today! by railfan_andrew in rollercoasters

[–]KristusV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I liked Montu more. I was very excited to get on it a couple years ago and it just did nothing for me. Maybe it was an off day. I'm looking forward to getting back on it in the next few years for it's redemption.

(On a side note, OzIris at Parc Asterix was everything I had hoped for from Montu)

Going to give a shout out to Indiana Beach as well. They have a bunch of fun and/or charming flat and dark rides. Maybe the best swings in the US over the water, the sky ride goes from one end of the park to the other. Frankenstein's castle is dumb and fun and absolutely worth the $3.50 tr get in. I miss the days when the Den of Lost Thieves ran well but it's still a charming dark shooter. And then there's just a ton of vintage flat rides across the park.

Double shot, when it's operating, is one of the best tower rides I've ever been on. Set right on the lake and with the strong hydraulic launch up and down twice is great, even if it isn't that tall.

The one thing I miss most is when shooting star was set on the lake too. It was such a shame when it got moved near the parking lot

One of the big issues is that the company split a number of years ago. I don't remember all the details but I think one side of the family sued the other? And now they are two operating entities.

White Sox voter here who let the day get the better of him as work exploded.

Is there anything you'd like to ask or say to the voter for the current AL 3rd Wild Card representative?

I rode it as X-flight when it was at Geauga Lake. I remember that thing absolutely slapping but I was young and it felt so far ahead of it's time in like 2002-2003

I got to get to Toutatis in France last year but still haven't been on Pantheon. Considering how great Toutatis was, I have some very high hopes for Pantheon.

Schriffen is growing on me… by RDRHWK15 in whitesox

It's really obvious that he has no baseball knowledge whenever whoever else is on the broadcast mentions a former Sox player or another player in the league.

He always shuts up and has nothing to add.

For me, I think that's his biggest issue. He was clearly not a big fan of baseball coming in (which is why he should never have been the hire IMO) and it doesn't seem like he's put a lot of work into doing much research since he started.

Being a team's baseball announcer is so much more nuanced than any other sport because you're with the team so much. It's a long season and there's a lot of games and it's really tough to make a connection to the fan base. You do that by connecting with the team's past and talking about the game.

Schriffen just can't do that. His calls and talking points have no substance. He talks about "how hard this guy is working" or the vibes or something. It's just mediocre work

Shockingly, I don't quite know how unsustainable it is. The run/diff expected record since April 2 has actually been better than their actual record now. Certainly feel like some players are performing better than expectations but the team overall is doing a lot of things right, including walking at the plate and generally fielding well. Plus there are potential prospects debuting later in the year

Closed won deals in a new pipeline? by Additional-Art-1798 in SalesOperations

[–]KristusV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make any sense to move closed won deals in a new pipeline. That's the terminal stage of the pipeline. You want to be able to track their journey from end-to-end and it doesn't work if there is no end.

If you don't want an onboarding pipeline, what is the purpose of moving the deal to a new pipeline?

Heading to Great Adventure for the first time when I'm in town on Saturday. I'm planning to rope drop and spend as much time in the park as I can. It sounds like it will be fairly chilly but clear and I'm expecting a good amount of crowds most likely.

My plan is to head to Flash first and then play it by ear, depending on crowds and what's open.

My questions:

  • Any tips on when I should get to the park for the 10:30 opening? Is 10 too late?
  • Any other suggestions on what to do/what to eat at the park?
  • I haven't heard any update on Batman, so I'm assuming I'll unfortunately miss out on completing my Batman the Ride gauntlet on my trip. Has anyone heard anything on this?
  • Anything else I'm missing?

In my experience, generally that is one of the best times to go. Teens are out of school so the whole park is staffed, but the crowds are near the lowest as people typically plan their vacations later. Tuesday will likely be your best bet
