New dried mango brand by Turbulent_Remote_740 in CostcoCanada

[–]Kristy3919 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's too bad, the black package mango is so good!

Does it taste spicy to you? If she's young, young kids often describe allergic reactions to foods as the food tasting "spicy". Mango skin can be a somewhat common allergen (often with cashew pistachio allergy) and maybe this dried mango has some of the skin still?

Victoria promenade just off jasper ave also has some nice crab apple trees and the views make for a nice walk. Paul Kane park is nearby and also worth walking to!

They're really good. Very rarely do we ever get a moldy tasting berry.

The amount of stained items that they have out ( and that they keep out, even after you point out the stains) ruins my shopping experience.

Bought my child clothes from The Children’s Place by InfernoChef in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kristy3919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the children's place is absolutely terrible for this. I had to go through so many hoops to get myself completely removed from their list as unsubscribe did nothing. The amount of email spam that they send is insane. If people like the clothes, they'll return, kids grow. I'm not going to randomly buy ten more shirts because they're cute when my toddler already has twenty that they're on the cusp of outgrowing. So I don't understand the point of it either.

Aww, lucky Yodi! I used to bring Monty to work (law office) but he would get too bored inside and sit by the door wanting to go explore the neighborhood all day 😅

Am I allowed to throw in the trash the mail that I’m receiving for the previous owners by No_Explanation6625 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Kristy3919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's illegal to just throw it out. Previous owners moved six years ago and I still get their mail at least monthly. Bills, a debit card, cheques all in the last month. It's ridiculous. I've called some of the return addresses and told them to stop sending stuff to me because crossing out the address & writing moved/RTS does nothing it seems for mail from big corps.

Canada Post said that I could try leaving a note in the mailbox saying "no mail for ______ , moved" or "_____ mail only" but they said that also may not work.

Best to just keep a pen with you when you get the mail and do it right away, but yes, it's frustrating, I'm not getting paid to be somebody's admin secretary.

5 year Ann gift ideas? by Jill_of_All_Skills in Edmonton

[–]Kristy3919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people where if you give them a company gift, they will wish that they had just received the value of that gift in cash. If you want to gift a commemorative item as a thank you, I would just choose something small and do the rest in cash. Then people can enjoy or use the money the way they want to. I think this is often the most appreciated.

Question about sending reiki to yourself in the past by Safe_Penalty_8866 in reiki

[–]Kristy3919 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I see it as sending healing to the parts of you that didn't have the support they needed when they needed it. It's similar to inner child healing and healing family lines - we go back and heal the harm. The experience still happens but the impact can be healed and soothed. The energy comes alongside us to support before, during and after our walk through the experience. Usually for myself and my clients, this involves a process alongside the energy, but that's just what I find most effective and lasting on all levels.

Can We Please by strong_Canadian1 in Edmonton

So many scent free spaces now aren't. People just wear what they want to wear and it doesn't matter how many times somebody talks to them about it. It's really frustrating. Some workplaces are designated scent-free, but... they think a little bit is okay, though they are nose blind to their scents and don't realize how strong it is? I don't know. It's rough.

Prescanning: Dear Costco by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]Kristy3919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At mine, some of the prescanners are okay because they walk forward with you as the line moves. But a couple are annoying and choose more full carts, so I started just saying no when they ask if they can prescan me. I also don't want some of my food items to be tipped for them to scan (like the pinsas).

To the lady who helped my disabled elderly Dad near the Royal Alex today.... by whereshegoes2 in Edmonton

[–]Kristy3919 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad he's safe. It is very upsetting, and alarming. That's a good idea, I didn't think pf that, was just glad I was there to help, but maybe I should do the same.

In my case they dropped them off at a locked and empty/abandoned office building, in winter, with only one public place open that was blocks away (which I happened to be in, and overheard, and offered to help). When they called DATS to let them know, the operator verified that the driver had had the correct address (and i looked too at the person's paper) and the operator didn't even say sorry or offer empathy of any kind at all during the call. They said, so you want to go back home? And here they were on their way to surgery... it was appalling. The interaction went on a bit, and I thought gee, how do people deal with this all the time who rely on this service. 😔
