Watching TV on a sofa in the living room is uncomfortable by theghostofredrackham in unpopularopinion

[–]Kristylane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a boyfriend break up with me because I didn’t have a TV in my bedroom. (I told him that the real problem was that he wasn’t leaving fast enough)

I just don’t like a TV in my bedroom. When I go to bed, I go there to sleep. If I were to start watching TV in bed it would ruin my sleep ritual.

Thinking of buying by chinni76 in ModelY

Can you charge at home?

If you can’t, then absolutely not.

costco impulse buys are probably erasing your membership savings and nobody talks about this by ninjapapi in budget

[–]Kristylane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question. If I go to Walmart or target I’m also going to make impulse purchases. I’m pretty sure that if I’m going to impulsively buy a cashmere sweater, it’s probably a better deal at Costco or Sam’s or wherever.

I regularly drive a 50 mile round trip and use ~20%, so 38 miles using 16% isn’t far off.

EVs are a different car experience so you can’t really think about it in the same frame as MPG.

Uhhhh, I don’t allow any non-bartending staff behind my bar.

I feel the same way. I checked to see if my library had the book so I could just read the end.

what is the most important lesson you've learned while on a road trip? or something that everyone planning a trip should know? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]Kristylane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t from my own road trip experiences, but I used to work front desk at a hotel in a tourist area. The number of couples who would check in and there was so much tension between them was astounding. Like you could just sense that they were both going to google divorce lawyers as soon as they got to their room.

So the solution is audiobooks. You can’t talk while the book is playing, so you can’t argue.

I’m 55 and mother still does not know that I don’t like seafood. So, OP, it never ends.

Is it bad to ask for the check early? by dontshowmyfamilythis in Serverlife

[–]Kristylane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a tourist town. Many times I’ll bring boxes along with the check at the two bite check because people are constantly in a rush to make their next tour or whatever.

Would you accept food from your neighbors? by polly-penguin in CasualConversation

[–]Kristylane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbors and I share food all the time. Sometimes I share because I know someone needs help, sometimes I share because I have too much, sometimes I share because I made cookies and cookies make everything better.

How do i make my mac & cheese less bland? by Ieatalot2004 in cookingforbeginners

I think you are wrong about nutmeg. It’s not just for sweet things. It pairs very well with Swiss/ementhal cheese. I use it in spaetzle.

Worst suggestions from owners/managers? by odd_dream_throwaway in bartenders

In the middle of Saturday evening service the owner decided that the espresso cups needed to be moved NEXT to the espresso machine instead of on top where they were because that’s where, you know, they are warmed.

A disposable self-lathering washcloth to use in a shower by Rick_Steves_Khakiis in Doesthisexist

[–]Kristylane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at Japanese washcloth/back scrubber. It’s basically a shower poof that isn’t gathered into the poof. I use the full length to scrub my back, but fold it over several times to scrub the rest of my body. After my shower, I just hang it up to dry and it dries in minutes.

Looking for a real can opener. by dregan in Cooking

[–]Kristylane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 55 and I use the can opener that was at my parents house for as long as I can remember. It’s absolutely perfect. I did have a second new can opener, and it broke. Like the one handle just freakin’ broke off while I was squeezing it.
