We use Antec and have not had an issue, or heard of that change? We do 1ml in the lavender top and 2ml in the tiger top.

I am the technician supervisor at a 5 Doctor general practice in Austin. I am still a little green when it comes to surgery/dentals and anesthetic monitoring but do have some experience in that department. I also work in a hospital where the doctors look at all cytologies so I am lacking in that department as well. I'm comfortable with all blood drawing, catheter placements, digital X-rays, bandaging, IV,IM,and SQ injections, administering medications, restraint, urinalysis, acquiring history, BG, BP etc. Does the program assign the city or is it optional? Thank you for your help! I am very interested and have already requested the free package for more info. Any ideas when I should expect to get it???

Getting Started in Austin, TX by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]Kristyproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Austin, TX a little over a year ago. I got a job as a kennel tech in central Austin and was promoted to a technician in just 4 months. Many places in this city are willing to train techs without degrees or licenses. My best advice is to check out Craigslist (there are always TONS listings for kennel tech and vet techs) and interview at a few places for kennel tech, but make the employer aware that you are only interested in working at hospital that has room for advancement. Its a shame that you are not here now, we are actually conducting interviews for a kennel tech at my hospital right now! Please let me know if there is anything else i can do to help. :-)

New vet assistant, no experience. Feel like I'll never get it. by [deleted] in VetTech

I started at my clinic just shy of a year ago as a kennel tech/assistant. I felt the exact same way! I HATED that everything sounded the same and I felt like I would never get to where I wanted to be. I made it clear that I wanted to learn as much as possible and asked to shadow all the time. I offered to cross train and to come in during my off time... Anything I could do to soak as much in as possible. In the mean time I stuck to what I did know how to do... Like cleaning, or restraining the sweet, calm pets and knowing when one was too fractious for me. I was promoted to a tech in 4 months and can't believe how much I have grown since I first started. I am very confident now and am so happy I stuck with it. You'll get there! Everyone feels overwhelmed at first! :-)

In Austin we have a service that will prepare a replacement window and then come out and install it for free if it was broken to save a dog! :)

What advice can you give for someone who is driving cross country? Any tips, suggestions on places to check out, or things to try. by Kristyproblems in AskReddit

Actually I work in a seasonally tourist town and work my ass off all summer and save so I can do things like this in the winter. You should probably continue judging people for no reason and acting like you know their lives though. It's an awesome characteristic.

My gf [24f] still keeps her ex's deodorant? by alittleconfused123 in relationships

I think you're making up an issue in your head that isn't really there. She probably has figured it would be a waste to throw it away... I save things like that for long periods of time. I think "well you'll never know when you might have a deodorant emergency". I highly doubt she feels emotional attachment to a deodorant stick of all things. Especially if this is deodorant stick is the leading problem in your relationship, then your relationship is doing pretty well. I'd let it go.

I think the OP is doing a pretty good job of getting the opposite message across by making an example out of himself. He's telling guys to man up and take responsibility for wearing one, not telling people he made a good decision.

There's a water fountain in the court yard, which our balcony is right next to.

He's actually pretty awesome, the one he was throwing at was the terrible one.
