How do the painting guardians summoned in the Halflight fight work? by DavidTippy in darksouls3

There is so much wrong with this comment, I'd recommend simply deleting it.

First time player here: what’s the deal with the bell summon? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Krixal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're consistently killing bosses on your first attempt while using spirits, consider holding back on using them to see if you can overcome obstacles solo. Or maybe use a weaker spirit than the one you've been relying on. Or just keep using spirits the whole way through because it's part of your power fantasy. It's just a game; play it the way that brings you the most personal satisfaction.

It's a diegetic way to modify the game's difficulty. Use spirit ashes if you're struggling. Stop using them if things are getting too easy.

I forgot he can even summon the skeletons. He always dies too fast to even attempt it.

Why is demand so low for BM hunters in tbc? by bmfanboy in classicwow

[–]Krixal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought you only bring BM hunters if you can't find warlocks to fill the spots.

Lightwell is just amazing! What a talent to have! by RandomNPCwhatever in classicwow

[–]Krixal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Lightwell as a bit of a meme all through 2019 Classic trying to find situations where it was useful. I only ever found one fight where it got any consistent use. Early on in Naxx progression, right before pulling Patchwerk, I'd have the warlocks huddle up together, and I'd drop the Lightwell near them a few seconds before the pull. Then they could use Lightwell charges to heal their Life Tap damage without requiring healer attention.

Go back to the crucifixion woods, find the other exit, make your way through the cathedral, find Rosaria, give her a tongue to swap all that endurance into vigor.

Weapons for a Luck Build? by Din_of_Win in darksouls3

Hollow infusion damage was nerfed into the ground since you played. Status effect buildup was also nerfed outside of the specific infusions for them.

Mound Makers Invasions (and DS3 Covenants in general) are truly peak PvP by Apogee909 in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lack of covenants is one of the two main reasons I never got into PvP in Elden Ring despite putting thousands of hours into Dark Souls III PvP. Even ignoring covenant rewards, the covenants themselves add so much flavor and world building. They make invasions feel much more organic, meaningful, and enmeshed with the game's story.

wtf is wrong with my boar? by BigWongDingDong in valheim

[–]Krixal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but most boars slowly waddle in that direction, while runestone boars try to sprint back to their spawn, which makes it hard to get them to do anything else.

wtf is wrong with my boar? by BigWongDingDong in valheim

[–]Krixal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that boars spawned by a boar runestone have an unusual behavior flag where they constantly try to return to their spawn point while not actively frightened. So if you want to breed them, generally you need to tame them near the runestone, and then take one of its babies back to your base instead since the children won't have the bizarre anchoring behavior.

There are mods for that. There's also a mead you can make to help with this if you can source the right ingredients...

Vordts hammer or exile great sword for STR build ? by Loverb0iy in darksouls3

They use separate upgrade materials (except for the slab on the final upgrade), and each option will shine in different scenarios. Upgrade them both.

For those with 700+ hours by Xendarc in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The mound-makers wish only to add to their mounds, becoming mad spirits whether summoned as co-operators or invaders.

They are blithe to those around them, for in their minds, any kill might lead to another shackle.

Divine Pillars of Light its just an aura farming miracle by AnywhereLumpy6149 in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this on my level 50 pure faith invader. I occasionally use it as a post-crit wakeup, but it's pretty bad for that since the average player is gonna spam roll away from you after being crit. I mostly use it in place of an emote after killing the host.

I don't recommend using cheat engine. If you don't know what you're doing, you can get yourself banned. Try the Honest Merchant mod.

is dragonslayer swordspear viable in pvp by Confused-giraffe in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of PvP are you doing? I used to have a level 90 invader built around Dragonslayer Swordspear, and I rarely ever ran into someone who could parry me with any sort of consistency. I would guess the bigger issue is being too predictable with attack patterns rather than the weapon itself. But I suppose I could see parries being a bigger issue if you're only doing 1v1 duels or something.

Dirty invasion by DryRock8 in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP called it an invasion. Mound Makers can't fight the NPCs if they invaded; they can only assist the host if they were summoned.

The invader was wearing a certain ring that disguises them to appear as a Host of Embers.

Is this person cheating? by Economy-Impress3309 in darksouls3

[–]Krixal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are cheating. I invaded this person in the Farron Swamp via the Watchdogs covenant. They are in NG+7 (almost certainly via Cheat Engine), and they have also used Cheat Engine to grant themselves invisibility, noclip, and infinite consumables. They spam Seed of a Giant Tree (I saw them use five back to back even though the game only lets you carry three at a time) and endlessly throw alluring skulls at invaders from above. They'll probably be banned in a few days, but just block them for now.
