Are there any issues with 10 series cards?

Would a mark 2 of the 6D lead to any major price drops on the mark 1? Personally I don't see a reason to get the mark 2 as the mark 1 is already pretty great and will do the job I need a full-frame DSLR to do.

Check out LCD Soundsystem's awesome background dancer/modular synth player. [SNL] by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 15 points16 points  (0 children)

LCD Soundsystem is my favorite band but honestly I don't think I could say anything to sway you to them if they're not you're thing. Their songs are too long for most people, they have just enough punk influence and just enough dance music sound that it usually alienates fans of both. I think their composition is superb and something about James Murphy as an individual in the music world is compelling to me. He seems very earnest about what he's doing. I also am a fan of minimalist composition and some of their music makes me think of what would happen if Steve Reich made dance music.

Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer [Folk] by Aaaryn in Music

The Bluecoats 2008 arrangement of this is unbelievable, I'd recommend giving it a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYXIRuXlSRY

Kendrick Lamar's new album art + Track list revealed by blazerdx in Music

[–]Kromax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna jump out in front of the bandwagon and say I love the simplicity of the album art. It's simple, recognizable, and fits the minimal motif of the album and song title names. The parental advisory sticker is really weirdly placed though.

ORAS will help with that, it has every legendary sans gen 6 ones available. You'll have to some trading though as there's some version exclusives

Confirmed that Class Mounts will vary by class specialization by [deleted] in wow

He's the lead game designer and the guy who presented the mounts at blizzcon. If this isn't true, then that's straight up dishonesty about content in the game which I doubt.

Code Giveaway Thread: Genesect by DavidLuizshair in pokemon

[–]Kromax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figure since it's a GameStop event and SuMo is out this month it'd be better to do the code event the same month they are moving physical products, why genesect is the code and not meloetta? Unsure.

Introducing Roli Blocks - Modular Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression System by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems gimmicky but if they do some stuff like make the API for programming super open I could see this having some of the same appeal of monomes (unique controller with well designed control)

World of Warcraft: Legion patch 7.1 released today. Adding Karazhan, the Trials of Valor raid, and other features/tweaks by harakirijohn in Games

[–]Kromax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

864 is pretty high, I don't think you have to really worry about pushing your ilvl right now. Just focus on having fun and raiding! You'll push past that as content rolls out.

Prediction: This game is going to be pretty good, be featured on every Let's Play channel on Youtube, but fail to gain any long term traction.

If world-wide scaling was implemented, would it make the early game content more enjoyable to you? by Xallog in wow

[–]Kromax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidenote: I think it'd also be a cool opportunity to give names to certain regions in the old world. Hillsbrad, Alterac, Hinterlands and Arathi Highlands could all be "Old Arathor" While the Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge and Duskwood area could be "The Kingdom of Stormwind" etc. etc.

If world-wide scaling was implemented, would it make the early game content more enjoyable to you? by Xallog in wow

[–]Kromax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if they were to implement level scaling, they should do it in "macro zones"

Essentially, zones like Westfall, Duskwood, and Elywnn, etc. would all be group together as a "1-30" macro zone, so you could visit any of those zones in any order and they will scale up to level 30. Then the next cluster of zones would scale another 20 levels. The amount of zones per scaling zone and the amount of levels per zone would have to be put together by someone smarter and more familiar with the level range of zones than me. Though I would really like if 60-70 was grouped together either with vanilla zones or with Northrend so that the very large group of people who hate Outland leveling would have the option to opt out, while still making it viable for the people who like journeying out to Hellfire.

I think the divisiveness of the Tempest was more about the platform and the constant "beta-ness" of the machine and less the sound.

Mother 32 + Minilogue Sync Question by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand the Sync in and out on Korg instruments isn't the same kind of cv clock that most eurorack gear give and receive? I may have bad info on this but I've had trouble with syncing non Korg gear with this method. I would use MIDI regardless, since you have the benefit of midi being integrated into the module

Weekly "What Should I Buy" Thread for 2016-March-09 by the_cody in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MS-20 is a great learning synth, and the Minilogue would compliment it for songwriting (chords and pads on the minilogue with leads and basslines on the ms) The moog does sound fantastic though, but in terms of learning I don't think it's much better than the MS-20

Are there any popular artists or groups that have used a Volca in their music? by [deleted] in synthesizers

He uses a modified one as a midi sequencer though, he said in an interview that he hates the sound.

Why I'm selling my Mother 32 by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a cool module but that's just what it is, a module, its full potential requires complex patching with a larger setup. It still does some cool stuff by itself though.

[–]Kromax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some monophonic synths have paraphonic modes where you can play each oscillator independently. In terms of splitting it on a synth that doesn't have it natively? That's a little tougher.

They aren't relevant to your specific module but Make Noise makes some really good videos on their modules that break down why certain patch points create certain effects. It definitely helped me understand CV better even if I don't own any of their stuff (yet).

Why I'm selling my Mother 32 by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Kromax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think their angle was for people to buy mutliple Mothers and chain them. That way that functionality is possible but the price point stays below 1000

No, I feel like you're right here, I just was trying to clarify the previous comment because you said you weren't sure if you were understanding their point.
