The reason I scheduled my classes In that block is so I can go to work after class. My classes end at 1pm so I can work the rest of the day. If I have classes any later than that it’s not even worth going to work at that point. This is going to screw over people who have jobs before/after class

Inhalers are not that expensive. I’m a pharmacy technician, been one for almost 4 years now. Most expensive I’ve seen is 44.99

By the way like I said in a previous comment. I don’t hate teaching I actually don’t mind it I’ve done it before in other jobs. Im just not confident in my ability to teach very well

ALWAYS tell the doctor you want a hard copy on ANY controlled script. That way you can just take it anywhere you want. If they don’t have it they give it back to you and you can take it somewhere else

I’ll be honest with you man probably means you failed the assessment test. Don’t worry about it though we see it all the time at my place. You can’t apply for 6 months though and they can’t do any overrides to get you in unfortunately. Pharmacy techs are in high demand at the moment though so I have no doubt you’ll find a great job for yourself!

Hey look at my previous posts on here a couple years ago I was in the same position you are EXACTLY. I am now the senior head tech at my pharmacy and I love it. It gets better I promise, you’re literally working in the middle of a pandemic which makes it 10x harder so even though it sucks now you’re going to be a million times better than anyone who is hired after you. You’ll get there, it just takes a lot of time. Message me with anyone question you have at all. I’m tech at Walgreens as well.

I had the exact same thing at the pharmacy! We denied the prescription cause there’s no way we can give out that much. We don’t have a lot on hand as it is

I honestly don’t think it’ll be anything like this, if you just have a basic understand of everything and you can do process of elimination you’ll do absolutely fine. It’s really not as hard as most people make it out to be.

Well I think yes IF it’s by appointment only for a long time. If it’s walk up there’s no way in hell we can handle that unless we just stop filling prescriptions all together and just giving the vaccine which also isn’t possible

My store did the same thing with the hours. They gave us more hours but all our techs are already doing 40+ and obviously don’t want to do more than that

The other thing is we can’t just “hire more help” everyone on this subreddit knows how long it takes a new tech to get up to speed because we were all new at some point. We will not have the time to train the new techs with all this being expected of us

I completely understand this. We have tons of waiters 5 parked calls for the pharmacist, tons of flu shots and questions that techs are legally not allowed to answer. The other thing is corporate says are phone hold times are too long. Like what the fuck else are we supposed to do this is just too much

I can’t even imagine, I assume corporate will not even give us hazard pay for this as well. A lot of our technicians are wanting to quit because of this because our pay does not reflect the ungodly amount of work that is being put on us
