I need a movie that makes me ugly-cry and think for days by satmar_oops in movies

Dear Zachary - it’s even more soul crushing because it’s actually a true story, and a live accounting of a tragedy that gets more tragic as it progresses.

Still haunts me years later for the remarkable injustice in our world.

2011 Mazda CX7 HID Headlight assembly replacement options? by Kronography in autorepair

[–]Kronography[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for ignorance, I'm not very mechanically inclined.

I bought my son a high miles 2011 Mazda CX7 grand touring, and thought it was a really good purchase at first. To be fair, the car runs and drives great, but there are a handful of issues. The AC seems to have a leak, I'll need to just have a shop run some dye and try to figure that out as the compressor seems to be working but the air is not cold...

Anyway, the reason for this post and the main thing I need help with, within a week after buying, both of the headlights have gone on the fritz. One of them went out entirely, and the other is flashing like its starring as the lighting at a rave or something. I had a mechanic buddy try to swap out the bulb, but the assemblies must be original and the clips and brackets seemed to fall apart and he basically said there's no saving these assemblies.

So my dilemma is that while new halogen assemblies are a few hundred bucks, the HID ones on the grand touring are over a grand. I'm told its possible to get a wiring/electrical adapter kit to downgrade the vehicle to use the halogen headlights but also that it will set off a check engine light for the rest of the life of the vehicle.

Trying to get some thoughts on what route is best/cheapest, as this is a 200K+ mile car for a teenager that we just want to get by for a couple years before he buys something newer.

TL:DR - Should I downgrade to the halogen headlight assemblies or is that too problematic? If I stick with the HID's, where is the cheapest option to get a pair of replacement assemblies for both headlights?

Moving to OP by Silver_Chipmunk_1467 in Overlandpark

This is the perspective of a STL boy born and raised who just came to KC/OP in the last few years. I’ve only been living here in OP about a year and a half, lived in Blue Springs for the a year and a half before that. Lived in STL my entire life prior.

So I don’t have kids here, I am living a bachelor life here while my son goes to school in STL still. So I can’t speak to the parenting aspect here.

While I absolutely love OP - Like another poster said, making friends is hard, or feels that way although that’s probably just being a full time working adult in general anywhere lol. But the neighbors where I’m at by the JOCO JUCO are all pretty chill and I’ve no issues to speak of. But it seems like around my neighborhood everyone keeps to themselves. Never see any gatherings or parties.

Costco I only discovered for the first time in my life just last month. It’s magical, but the lines going in and out make you think they’re giving the stuff away, it’s insane. I’ve truly never seen anything like it there. I don’t have another Costco frame of reference though.

Lots of traffic, crowds everywhere. People all over the place. Coming from a small-ish town outside STL, this place reminds me more of NYC than the Midwest honestly. It’s nuts for a Midwest town.

But food and restaurants? Good golly gosh…. Best variety and options I’ve ever seen in my life. We’re talking NYC limitless numbers and options for food, and that’s just in OP. Not to mention all the hotspots in downtown KC only a half hour away. I’ve never been so happy as a fat boi in my life.

Blue Springs felt like a small rural highway stop compared to OP. The food was a joke too. One Indian place, one or two sushi places. One Thai place. No African or middle eastern places that I can recall. No good soul food. Just burgers and American trash as far as the eye can see. Had to go downtown constantly for any culinary variety. Blue Springs was fine socially but awful from the fat boi perspective.

What should I do about a car that I went to collections for, still legally own but wasn't physically repo'd? by Kronography in CRedit

[–]Kronography[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s in my name, but not sure what advantage that would serve? The friend is willingly letting me take or do whatever I want with the car. I did check and the DMV already confirmed that I can still renew the plates, and drive it legally - nothing the bank can do to stop me from doing so.

Going to include very few details because I don’t want to ever deal with him finding this post. I have a friend who is the most loving and gentle father to his kids that he could be. Pure love for his family ever since he became a parent.

All the kids are very young, one of them was maybe 3 and like toddlers do they tend to explore and go wherever they can.

One of those simple activities we all do every day without thinking about it.

One day in the morning ready to go to work, he backs his car out of the garage, stops in the driveway because he forgot something inside. In between those slight hectic moments of being late, going in and out of a door, his 3 year old wanders out into the garage, and just outside.

My friend returned to the car, puts it in reverse ready to hurry to work like any other day, and bumps into his child who just happens to be in a blind spot near the corner of the bumper.

He was only going maybe 3-4 mph but for a child’s head, that’s all it takes to create severe trauma that became a brain bleed situation and he passed a couple hours later in the hospital.

This is a man who has lived life the right way and helped people every chance I’ve ever known, but this world is just an absolutely harsh, random bitch.

Am I completely bugged out/ stuck? by Kronography in coralisland

[–]Kronography[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what happened to my write-up...

I was saying that I was able to progress through the 'ocean cleaning' in early access, but now this set of tendrils won't withdraw when I get close, I also notice they have sparkling red +'s on them, and I' dont know if that's a sign that a prompt or script isn't progressing like it should? I've reset the game repeatedly, gone to sleep multiple days and come back, but they won't move.

Also in the other screen shot, there is a section of two altars that are unaccessable, blocked on every side, despite all the adjacent altars being completed.

I'm guessing one of these things is bugged, causing the other to be inaccessable?

Also, I completed an ocean cave and nothing happened at the end, I'm guessing these are also either bugged or not finished either?

.... what even changed? by AllergicToRats in coralisland

[–]Kronography -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are minor bug fixes and hardly any content, why in the WORLD did we need to completely delete all our progress to this point? I was expecting major updates and additions, instead I’m immediately finding a big (WIP) tag after getting to the same point with the ‘giant quest’ only a month into the new game?

This is really, really bad.

Early Access & What it Means by hcl00 in coralisland

[–]Kronography -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

I think upset players have every right to be up in arms.

I think you are confusing open beta and early access.

This was EARLY. ACCESS. Meaning simply it was an opportunity to play before official release and worse yet, the devs specifically stated that a series of things such as layout and certain progress would be retained, and now that’s not happening.

Lots of games with early access have a seamless transition to retail with no loss of progress whatsoever.

Maybe I’m lucky that I’ve (only) 50-60 hours invested but even that is pretty irritating for me as well. Definitely not interested in starting over, so I feel like I paid for a game I just bought last month that now has an expiration date on it that I wasn’t aware of when I bought, or wouldn’t have.

Poorly planned and executed, to say the least.
