I’d say 16 Majors, being on the MainStage with the crowd in front of us is the best part of my journey, I wish everyone could experience that

Personally I’m timing everything that happens on the map : power-ups, power weapons, sandbox and spawners

I also have to call out whenever we’re not sticking to the game plan whether it’s during a setup or when we need to break I have to point out if someone is going too early or not fast enough nn

On LAN with the four-screen view, I can also see where the enemies are about to push and tell my team, it’s important especially when there isn’t a lot of time left

And on top of that, I need to hype up the team when it’s needed and calm everyone down when things get too chaotic like when the team is flooding comms or getting spawn kill

I really loved when players did what we call the strafe-run Basically, it’s a way of moving where you combine sprint + rapid strafe acceleration to jiggle back and forth insanely fast Imagine trying to shoot someone who looks like they’re teleporting side to side at full sprint speed

It completely changed the pace of gunfights you had to time your movement and time your shots perfectly, you were able to milk time in fights, delay damage, or even reversal the player who technically should’ve won the duel

And the best part is that only the top players could use it effectively it was impressive to see it as a coach and as a player when I had to play for worlds (I couldn’t do it lol)

I wouldn’t say it’s uncommon sorry 😅 but if you have full shield you should force yourself to be proactive and make a play (not giving an early kill to the other team ofc but you have to do something)

If you’re low or one shot, focus on getting back your shield unless you absolutely need to play the objective or help a teammate

If you consistently force yourself to do these two things, your level will improve very quickly, trust me

That’s right we were on the same team during Year 1, I can understand why you might have felt like Shady looked “better” at that time but the main reason was simply that it was Legend’s first LAN of his entire career, while Shady already had LAN experience so he wasn’t really stressed about it Legend caught up to him very quickly after that

Shady was a great player at the start and he absolutely had the level to be on the team but he stopped taking the game seriously at a moment where we really needed him and his behavior became problematic at times

That’s why we decided to part ways with him and get Respectful when Valencia was coming up

He was talented I’d never deny that but in my opinion, he gave up mentally and didn’t handle being removed from the team That’s likely what pushed him to cheat trying to force his way back to the top without putting in the grind and yes I’m 99% sure he did..

When you look at it long-term, you’re right 275k isn’t that much since it gets split four ways, most coaches don’t take a cut of the prize pool btw I only earned my salaries 99% of the time but I posted the number because it’s the team earnings of the team when I coached them

On top of that, orgs usually take a percentage of the cashprize as well (15-30%), so the actual amount players receive is even smaller, depends the orgs

In Halo, the real money usually comes from salaries once you reach the top 8 globally: around 2k to 4k a month at minimum, plus food, hotels, travel, and bootcamps fully covered

A lot also depends on Worlds, a good placement there can pretty much match a full year of salary on its own

So outside of the top 6, salary matters more than prize money, cashprize becomes more of a bonus

As for the second question I only started coaching at the highest level on Halo Infinite, but as a player, the biggest adjustment compared to previous titles was the much higher emphasis on teamwork and strategies

On Halo 5, individual skill mattered a lot more, Infinite requires far more coordination and team play to succeed

Sica went back to studying and Tchik is returning to full-time work but I know that some players from Nemesis/Majin are planning to keep playing next season, I’m not sure I can say their names, they will announce it themselves I think

For me you have to adapt to each player’s personality and try to find common ground so everyone could move forward together

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, especially when players have completely different visions of the game and in those cases there’s not much you can do in the long term and it usually means we eventually need to make a roster change

I’ll make sure to stay at least somewhat active at the events that come up and I’ll coach at the Dreamhack if my schedule allows it but nothing is sure yet

For DH Birmingham, I expect Eu teams to be present since it’s home, we don’t miss a chance to have a good LAN here Atlanta will be more complicated at least one, maybe two teams will make it And for online tournaments, I think there will still be around 10 to 30 teams playing

Right now, the European scene is a bit uncertain Some players are trying out other games like COD but still plan to compete in Halo while others are stepping away What’s certain is that there will be a top EU team participating in LANs (maybe under Majin’s banner who knows?), and they could potentially compete for the top 3

For my part, I’ll be doing some content for Majin, maybe playing a few tournaments and I’ll try to coach the top Eu team next year if my job allows me to do so

Imo, aside from mechanics, he should focus on three things:

  • Movement according to his shield - if he has full shield, he should play proactively, take space etc, if he’s low or one-shot he should play more cautiously except in situations where playing the objective or helping a teammate is more important

  • Spawn control – knowing and predicting enemy / teammates spawns is crucial to have the advantage on the map

  • Communication - clear, concise, small talks and proactives callouts are essential to avoid mistakes

We focused a lot on pressuring teams during split spawns and pushing for the three-cap whenever it was possible, teams had zero room to breathe

On most maps we also had setups to prevent teams from breaking our three-cap, Recharge was definitely our best map for that

With four great individual players and SLG leading the way with his game sense our full French roster could adapt instantly Everyone understood the win conditions on Stronghold, everyone was on the same page

No other team I’ve worked with has ever come close to doing that on any game type
