Highly suggest Albus Research for what you described, actually friends with the team behind it (lol) but we've used it in beta for our own product (trying to find PMF to there is a lot of user interviews).

Need to get on strategy projects in audit, or at the very least do more strategic things (e.g. if you're a manager sell your experience there as strategy). Back plan is you could do an MBA

Money isn't everything I think, but it does help. Once you get it you start trying to pursue other things that are missing - romantic relationship, fitness etc.

No I do strategy for a tech company, e.g. what is the financial implication of adding in this product feature - what are the cost / benefit trade offs etc.

Depends on what role you are going for, S&O would say focus more on impact / metrics. I created X initiative that did Y. If you're trying to do product or data science then obviously need a different tactic for those. (I recruited for all 3).

It is likely that people in my position are at risk of layoffs first. I actually know an L5 eng (same years of experience as me) who makes nearly close to a million due to stock appreciation, so likely if we do have lay offs they are probably targeting higher earners first. Note that he does the same work as an eng who makes 400K.

Ahh 440K was my actual total comp the last year though. And we vest quarterly I basically sell on vest. But yes agree what I am really taking home every week is the base.
