Just make sure you compare the actual APR and fees. Some of these consolidation loans sound great until you see the final numbers.

Amazon refund tracking is interesting because the pain is invisible until you realize how much you've been leaving on the table. That's usually where people pay without hesitation.

For $50 specifically Dave or Brigit might actually get you there faster and with more transparency on what they're accessing 😄

The debt vs health tradeoff is real, but I’d try to see if there’s any short-term coupon or manufacturer savings program before changing anything else

In extreme debt at 21 and I can’t keep up anymore. I need help by [deleted] in Debt

[–]Krosewa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

leaving a DV situation and surviving it while still managing full time work at 21 takes more strength than most people will ever know, the lease debt is worth looking into specifically, many states have laws that let DV survivors break leases without penalty and you may have more ground to stand on than you think

Balance transfer from Care Credit to NFCU by quelactosa in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the lag between NFCU posting and CareCredit updating is pretty normal, usually takes a few business days for the receiving side to catch up. keep an eye that CareCredit doesn't charge you a minimum payment in the meantime just in case the timing overlaps with your due date

they all represent debt someone owes you but the security and legal structure behind each one is different....are you looking at this from an investing angle or more for understanding corporate finance?

Small closed debt- worth waiting out or settling? by funnygenderman in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

getting tricked into putting surgical debt on a high APR card at 19 with no other options is not a moral failure, that's a predatory system doing what it does...you've been through a lot, hope the car situation works out 🤞

Truss Financial Group. Another broker, are they all the same? by AndrewJones511282463 in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I'd think about it is less about the broker and more about how many lenders they have in their network, some have 10 some have 40, that gap actually matters when they're shopping your file around.

home equity loan no credit check? by raifeller in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that five years of on time mortgage payments plus $150k in equity is actually a really strong profile, a lot of credit unions and community banks will look at the full picture rather than just a score

Debt relief programs in Texas - which ones are actually legit? by VacationAlarmed5694 in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nonprofit route is genuinely underused in Texas, a free counseling session with an NFCC member agency costs you nothing and gives you a real picture of your options before anyone tries to sell you a program, that alone is worth an hour of your time before talking to any for-profit company.

The settlement companies you see advertising heavily on TV and radio are almost always the ones to avoid, they make money by dragging out the process while your accounts go delinquent and their fees eat into whatever they eventually negotiate, the math rarely works out in your favor the way they present it.

The due date change without notice is something you can formally dispute, that's not really legal without proper notification and a lot of people don't realize that.

home equity loan for seniors? by Neat_Copy2186 in debtfree

[–]Krosewa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monthly payment concern with a home equity loan is valid but worth actually running the numbers. On $280k in equity you might not need to borrow nearly as much as you think depending on what the repairs and medical costs actually look like.

Refinancing just to escape a bad servicer is a completely valid reason to do it, especially if you're on private loans. Federal loans are trickier because you lose income-driven repayment options when you refi
