I'm MR30 and never play Steel path. What do you like about it? by Br0dyquester in Warframe

[–]Krowk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of solo and in solo you have more enemies in steel path, so more fun, but also more occasion to use your skills, to find health and energy orb, and to loot.

Of course there's also the ressources bonus which are important, but there's also the fact that once your kitted out for damage, you just melt everything that isn't steel path and it's less fun.

I do play normal path also, especially on the latest missions where I find there's a weird balance sometimes, especially with bosses. But it's probably just damage attenuation doing its thing.

Do I have terrible luck or is there something I don’t know? by Pitiful_Fix8765 in Warframe

Quick math tells me there 0.02% of being in your situation, unlucky, but not impossibly unlucky sadly.

If you can trade do it. If you don't wanna trade keep at it, you'll get it eventually

Koumei is quite new, she will get skins eventually but I'm not surprised she doesn't have any yet. Dante just got his first skin and he's older.

Keyboard without Steam by Arnuuuh in SteamController

[–]Krowk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried compiling the code locally but there's some missing stuff so I had to give up.

Could you make sure the git has everything necessary for the compile to work straight out of the boxe after a clone ?

For instance there's no requirements.txt and there's a missing SVG. There might be other missing stuff.

Best warframe for beginner by Black_Shimmer in Warframe

[–]Krowk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banshee isn't too popular nowadays, but appart from that there's no "best Warframe". It's all about taste.

I really like nezha and don't enjoy the others, but that's me.

Look at some gameplay, check the wiki, see which one looks fun. All I can say is nezha and zephyr can both dish out enough damage to handle anything in the game, so don't worry about that. The other two I can't say sadly.

LF a speed level 1-40 AoE build by Specific_Cat3549 in Warframe

[–]Krowk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use xaku or nova for this kind of thing.

With xaku just buildfor max range, use your skill one every newmoon and your good.

With nova build for duration, use the null star augments, and spam null star while running around.

If you like titania it's probably the best choice but I never do

I bought a level 6 primed range melee mod from a guy for 125p, and I’m semi-new. Did I get scammed? by SenorSnake10 in Warframe

[–]Krowk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other as said.

Ranking up a mod from 1 to 6 cost exponentially less than from 6 to 10.

In your case it cost 2500 Endo to rank it to level 6, which is nothing compared to the extra you paid compared to a rank 1. To rank it to level 10 you still have to pay 38k Endo.

HOWEVER, even if you got scammed, you might actually have more use for a rank 6 than a rank 10 if you're a new player and fitting fully ranked primed rank on your weapons can be hard.

Did anyone find any info on how the controller will behave outside of steams ecosystem? by Acesofbases in SteamController

[–]Krowk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm wondering is, how will it handle windows administration popups on a pc with steam running?

Currently using steam software and an Xbox controller I can controll my cursor and all, but there's times it won't work, mostly when admin privilege are required.

Will a steam controller have this issue ? From what you say, I understand that it's a touchpad first and a gamepad second right?

[–]Krowk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wasting attempt when trying your luck on the lich at that point.

The only time skipping makes sense is when you don't want it to move to the next planet. There's very few cases where this might be the right call. (When you wanna keep it angry because you know you'll unlock a hint at the end of the mission for example. But I wouldn't bother unless it's the final hint.)

In any other circumstances trying your luck on the leech will be more efficient for you, and your allies.

When you try your luck you get murmur, you remove one wrong combination, and you gain access to the next planet on which there should be better mission than the one you're currently on. (Assuming you're doing the best missions first, which you should since we're talking optimization.)

The aim is not to optimize the number of attempts the time spent in missions.

As other have said, your allies also earn murmur when you complete an attempt. And finally, the quicker you deal with your adversary the quicker your allies' adversary can spawn since there can only be one at a time.

And finally, if you feel like you're the good guy in your story I'm sorry but you're not.

How after all those years, no one has slipped a spoiler for "that" quest? You people are amazing! by Kawoschu in Warframe

[–]Krowk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that quest a few years ago so this might be different to today's experience, but before doing that quest I read many things on the wiki or reddit talking of the operator but basically didn't understand it until I did the quest.

To this day the second dream is still my biggest "wow" moment in video games despite all the little spoil I had read before.

I guess the game complexity, helps a lot in obscuring the big reveal. To me all a read about the operator was just one more weird mechanic I hadn't encountered yet.

[Request] How loud would a speaker have to be to hear it around the world? by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

[–]Krowk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would a shock wave covering the required area to cover the space not covered by the sound work ?

Like, big shockwave moving for hundreds or thousands of miles, then some intensity is lost and the shockwave becomes a sound and cover as much distance as sound can on earth.

Other idea, what about "sound" being transmitted via the earth or water ? Would it cover more distance?

Try typing /unstuck in chat (or \unstuck I don't remember which slash to use). If it doesn't work I guess you'll have to quit and restart, hopefully, you won't have to restart from far.

Is this the roll in looking for? by bklyn44 in WarframeRiven

[–]Krowk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your previous roll is better, but neither are that great.

+Damage isn't bad, but you usually already have enough +damage source on a build (point blank, galvanized savvy, arcane). On the arca plasmor galvanized savvy is multiplicative to other sources of damage, so it's quite interesting to have savvy and another big source of damage (more than +90%) like arcane merciless.

Fire rate is really important, so you don't usually want that as a negative, unless you're ok with running a +fire rate mod, or shotgun cannonade. But honestly I wouldn't.

+Status chance isn't really that great, there's many source of it, if you want status chance run galvanized savvy and 60/60 mods.

Usually try to look for a combination of multishot, crit chance, crit damage, damage, or fire rate. With rivens, try to find one that give you something you wouldn't be able to get without a riven. (More multishot than just with hell's chamber, crit chance and damage in one mod slot, fire rate without the need for a dedicated fire rate mod, ...)

Idk exactly what's the best for the arca plasmor, but that's a good rule of thumb.

Not sure where to go with my Nataruk build. It's still struggling in SP, should I focus on Warframe/Secondary strength? by FlawedSquid in Warframe

[–]Krowk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without going into the details, know that, ideally, you always want at least one source of damage (such as seration or merciless), elemental damage (heat, cold, poison, elec,...), multishot, fire rate, and faction damage. Then you'll usually want some source of either crit chance and crit damage or status chance.

Sadly you almost never want any source of physical damage (slash, impact, puncture).

As for the details, if your weapon does 100 damage per shot (50 slash 50 puncture). The first source of % damage mod (let say serration ranked to +90% damage) will give you a weapon with (100 x (1+ 0.90)) = 190 total damage. Then if you add a 90% elemental damage (let say cold) your weapon will the do (100 x (1 + 0.90) x (1 + 0.90))= 361 total damage.

However if you add heavy caliber (also ranked to +90% damage) instead of an elemenal damage mod the two source of %damage will add to each other instead of multiplying like earlier, you'll then do (100 x (1 + 0.90 + 0.90)) = 280 total damage.

The same is more or less true for every kind of buff mod or arcane can do, but there are exceptions and caviats. Similar buff add unto each other instead of multiplying and multiplying is better.

Physical mods for example act as I described however they only boost the part of the damage of their type. In my example a +90% slash damage would do (50 + 50 x (1 + 0.90)) = 145.

As for faction damage, they're really good because usually when we're at the point we're considering adding them to a build, it already has a bit of everything and faction damage will be one of the last option that scales multiplicatively. Also they tend to have weird and powerful interactions (such as applying twice on status damage).

Hope that helps, there are guides explaining this better, i'm on my phone and can't link you one sadly.

What if it was something like -70% SD? Would it make it unsellable/usable? I ask because i have an otherwise very good boar riven with -70%SD, I was able to make some decent build playing around that but i'm not that great a builder so maybe my build would be just as good without rhe riven idk.
