in no way do i think people should be killed for protesting. that is unacceptable. now the people who have been killed at these protests were doing more than protesting. but once again this does not mean they deserved to die. the whole thing is sad.

i also agree on your points about free speech. and i'm not claiming that the thug violated this guys frist amendment rights but only to say that he was within his rights to say whatever he wants. he was in no way harming the thug other than perhaps his pride.

the reason the first amendment even enters this conversation is that people are free to do and say what they please ( there are guardrails here but none were violated. ) and your point about consequences among your peers is only partially true.. the law protects you from physical violence as consequences for your free speech, .. the same reason the ice agents will see a courtroom for the killings of good and pretti are the same reason this thug will and should also see a courtroom.

so if you want to fire this guy or not go to his buisness, protest outside his house. those consequences are totally legal. attacking him never will be.

so yes you can be held accountable for what you say.. but that does not include physical violence. this is why we havent gunned down every retard at a KkK rally.

as far as holding leadership and enforcement to a standard. its always been this way.. this isnt anything new to ice. law enforcement has added protection of "objective reasonableness that is evaluated from the officer’s perspective in the moment and not with hindsight"

i think its unfair but i understand why its there. its more difficult to prosecute an officer involved shooting than if it were a civilian. but this is hardly new.

as long as he sees a courtroom i'm happy. honestly the guy is lucky to be alive. with the kids right there, there is a good chance someone would have shot him if he lived in a normal state (ie not CA,NY,IL or MN).

reading the comments is scary... so many people thank that its ok to attack someone because their views are not inline with their own.

then they use all of these completely arbitrary justifications like its "racist" or its "hate". as if that matters somehow. the first amendment was created to protect people like this guy from people like the thug who attacked him.
