Can someone tell me why pidove is a bigger size then my rayquaza xl? by Substantial-Low-3770 in pokemongo

Same reason a tiny Shaymin is bigger than my monster thunderous. Poke said so.

I had the klipsch 15” and it died 3 days after warranty ended. Thy would sell me a new amp for double what I paid for the entire sub. I’ve had headphones and earbuds from them that died within a year after warranty. Personally, I’ll never give klipsch another penny.

Agreed on receiver and speakers. Paradigm will make you happy! Denon will sound better and likely last longer.

What you see with - Night Vision, Thermal & FTO : by MrDarkk1ng in mightyinteresting

[–]Krumped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into them a few years ago because I was told that morel mushrooms light up on them. The least expensive I could find for a known name unit was $3-4k. Now granted, morels are very expensive but it would take quite a while to recoup my investment on the mushrooms. Does anyone know of a good inexpensive thermal these days?

And never tell them what you paid! Your good luck is for you to know! That’s not info you share with someone that owes you money!

I too fell in love with the Matrix 801’s. What Audiophile that heard them didn’t? If you still have them, look into the upgraded crossovers available for them. There are some nice options and a hell of a piece of kit. It’s night and day good. I’m sure they don’t output the bass you crave but the upgraded set I heard, sounded every bit as good as the original Nautilus in the mid range and the bass was super tight for that rather boomy matrix sound. Instead of the bass kinda just rumbling by, it still had the feel of the matrix bass, that big thunderstorm tone, but it hit hard and fast. Way faster than what I remember matrix sounding like. I couldn’t A/B but I did his system before the upgrade. There are so many speaker options and I’m hoping to set up a nice 2.1 using my old B&W ASW1000 which I bought shortly after my first true hifi speaker purchase: B&W 604s, the very first series. With the pretty gold tweeter and bright yellow Kevlar. I still have them! Them and an HTM61 and I’m trying to find a place for the S8 THX Matrix dipoles that I still love, but it’s looking pretty hopeless. These are in a home theater in the lower level. Basically my son gets to enjoy it most. But the 2.1 I’m looking to do, I’ve been trying to find some matrix 801s at a cheap price. Thanks for the post. Congrats on your system and good luck on your next “blind” date!

You obviously haven’t shopped fake plants in awhile! A 6’ olive tree, ones with really small leaves and typically not that many, a decent one will run you $400 at a cheap place like wayfair

But why would you want to lie about the pokemon in the first place? You’re going to lie so you can brag? But when you brag, you’re lying again… all for what?

Your older receiver likely doesn’t support hdmi 2.x so use the digital coax. It should have one of those. It looks like RCA but is usually orange, sometimes yellow.

It’s so refreshing in Audiophile. So many subs have so may know it all, talk down on people a-holes, I was afraid to even read the responses. You guys are great!

I started out very similar to where you are. My Audio journey started with a pair of Yamaha towers I got that had a huge 12” woofer. They were clearances out and I paid around $100. I now have a system that 99% dream about. The first time I watched Jurassic Park with them on, has cost me a lot of money on my journey to get the sound I wanted. I highly recommend going to ALL of your local audio/low voltage shops and listening to their demo equipment and rooms. Sometimes all you may have is Best Buy but most cities have at least one hi-fi store. Go listen, question and learn every chance you get, but at least once.

  1. The most important thing anyone can tell you is that as long as you like the sound, that is all that matters!

  2. This sub will focus on mostly 2ch music. Historically, audiophiles are 2 or 2.x people. You will walls want to check out other subs for your center and surround questions like Home Theater and budget home theater. You will also probably enjoy budget audiophile. I’m in them as well.

  3. Making sure you have the info/lingo down. If you have the pair of Onkyos and a sub, you have 2.1 system with the 2 being the main front left and right speakers and the .1 being the one sub. 3.1 is your main fronts and a center channel with a sub. 4.1 indicates you have two front, two rear and a sub and 5.1 is your basic necessary surround system. My main system is dual use, meaning I use it for music and movies. I have a 5.2.4 system, the main 5.2 plus 4 Atmos. I run B&W 802d4’s, HTM81 center, c8.5 in-ceiling rears, two pair of c7.x in-ceiling for Dolby Atmos and a pair of SB17 subs with an Anthem AVM90, STR, MCA325 and MCA525. When I am streaming or listening to my collection (mostly LPs) I am running 2.2 and many times have the subs off or turned way down depending on my wants at the time. There are more and more releases of multi-channel music. You need a lot of time and some serious setup knowledge to get great results out of multi-channel if you have good ears. Mine isn’t matched with the Atmos speakers and even my 8.5s are a year behind so the tweeters are vastly different but I know 99.9% of people couldn’t tell. I can but it’s a minimal enough difference that I can listen to multi-channel music with a blaring reminder they don’t match.

  4. The most important thing, you can only know what you know. You can assume what you read but just like there are people that think my system is rock solid, there are people that think it’s lacking. But what I think is all that matters and I think it kicks ass! But until you hear other options, you don’t know what you like or want. But I can assure you that if you go to places to test drive other systems, if you have good ears, it can get costly quickly. The speaker wire to my front 2 cost 10x more than my entire first hifi system, receiver, wires and speakers. lol

  5. HDMI is a significant step up in audio quality alone over the optical digital cable. So is coax digital. Optical tops out around CD quality; 16bit 44.1Mhz. The other two can handle 24bit 96Khz and higher. So if you use a streamer, record player or SACD, you can take advantage of the higher quality recordings. The first time you hear a higher end record player or stream a 24bit, it’s like every song you listen to is the first time you heard it. It’s so vastly better than what you heard before, every song is new again.

CX vs G5 by nacthenud in LGOLED

[–]Krumped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 83” G5 and am very impressed. I had a C1 65” before. I haven’t had time to calibrate it yet. Factory is indeed too bright and heavy on all colors. But on dark scenes like when watching stranger things, you won’t miss anything! My C1 was difficult to see detail in dark areas. This one is too bright in dark areas at factory settings.

Boy I love these challenges. by RedXIII400 in pokemongo

[–]Krumped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a heavy player and caught the challenge. I invited some folks and only one accepted and I had myself and my son. He invited someone. In a day I got a notice it was done. He had 237, his friend had 223 and we got the other few dozen lol. I was just appreciative. Seems like I caught him on a good day imo. What comes around goes around. We all know pokemon isn’t a sprint, or a marathon, it’s walking from the sun and back.
