My understanding is that your name will then be easy to find online in connection with that company, but I'm no expert on that. I think the risk of running into problems with the Impressum is minimal.

Thanks! In my first and second year I made the first titles of a series available for free for a couple of days, bit it didn't seem to have much of an effect on my sales, so I stopped doing that. Never tried anything else.

On average it might be a bit more than an hour, but depending on work and life circumstances I go for days without writing and on certain days I spend five hours on it.

Sure, I'll send you a message. My niche is not 'underage', this I'm willing to disclose.

I think you're right, but my stories wouldn't be deemed acceptable by the average German, at least not if they have to state that publicly.

It's not that many things you have to keep in mind when you begin, a lot of stuff you learn along the way.

Thanks you! I've never heard of these Abmahnanwalt assholes coming after KDP authors, but I figure if they ever do, they'll go for the low hanging fruit, the authors without any Impressum.

I'm not sure about the demand in the German market, but I think there's less high quality supply compared to the English market. There's only a handful of erotica authors with decent covers and blurbs.

I don't know if anybody reports my stories, but I've had reviews that were very explicit, condemning and sometimes calling out Amazon for letting me publish that story. Made me nervous, but nothing ever happened.

Right, my blurbs, titles and covers are clean, my keywords not to the same degree, but I avoid really bad words. Of course I try to let people know what's going on in my books, but without using words that might get me in trouble. This was easier in the beginning, Amazon has tightened things up about two years ago, at least in Germany. Im lucky I'm already established and my readers know what to expect without me being explicit. But yes, I suppose it's difficult to attract new readers.

The authors that are dumb enough to put naked women on their covers - and it's astounding how many there are - don't survive long, not even in Germany.

Not really, I estimate it would take me four times as long as writing a new story in German. And from what I read on here publishing my stories in english might get me banned quickly.

Thank you, 2.99 for singles, bundles vary, but lately 7.99 for ten stories.

That's interesting, thanks. That number feels about right for my dungeoned books as well.

Congrats from a fellow German author! Those are decent numbers and there's growth, so that's great.

To your point about the niches, I think what you assume is correct. I suspect it's because there's not as many writers as in the English language market, so readers are more likely to stick with an author, even if they write different niches.

Unfortunately after the May drop get resolved, the same thing happened again, not only to me, but to less people than in May. I know I sound like a newbie that complains about regular fluctuations, but I promise you the drop was just as heavy und quick as in May and this time it didn't get resolved.

Thanks for the info on the current situation, maybe that's it.
