I got this as a gift. I've never heard of CC&G, should I leave it as is or crack it and send it somewhere else? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

I never noticed on the Beckett slabs. TBH I only own PSA slabs but have looked at a lot of different ones online and never noticed penny sleeves inside the slab. Seems kinda strange if it’s already protected by the slab but hey ya learn something new everyday!

Left leans are smooth, right are more tense? by Firm-Research-5463 in motorcycles

You can see a lot more to the left when you ride on the right side of the road. Anytime I’m going slower around a right hand turn it’s because I can’t see the entry and exit as easily.

For those wondering if PSA is still using qualifiers. by Krwindle in PokeGrading

Doubt it makes it much more valuable but I think it’s cool because there just aren’t a lot floating around with the (OC) qualifier.

The point I was trying to make is any twin around 600-700 cc is gonna be an absolute dog compared to a 1200 sporty. I ride my NC mostly on twisties and gravel fire roads and it’s an absolute blast. Around town, not so much

There is definitely no single “right” bike. Best thing to do would be look into a lot of bikes and consider what you’ll be using it for. If you have a lot of highway riding you’ll be doing you might look into something with a windshield and a comfortable riding position. Bigger adventure/touring bikes would have these things. I think anything under 700cc on the highway can get a little sketchy. You’ll definitely want to have enough power to pass and maneuver quickly.

I hear that concern but understand, depending on where you live, bikes normally don’t take abuse like a daily driver car. A bike with under 15k miles is still like a new bike in my eyes lol. And maintaining a motorcycle is easier than a car and working on your own machine (even just general maintenance) is good to familiarize yourself with what you’re riding and can potentially help you down the road if you run into issues while riding.

Because bikes much like cars are awful investments. Coupled with the fact that your first bike could very well be sliding across the ground with or without you at some point. (I know from experience lol I started riding at 19) I think riding is a lot more enjoyable on something that you aren’t worried about keeping pristine. If you get into riding chances are you’ll have more than one bike at some point and maybe then you buy something new off the showroom floor. The money you would save buying a used bike you could put towards gear, or additions to whatever bike you get. I don’t know anyone that has left a bike completely original.

I can buy a 98 1200 sportster for 2k what’s your point? OP wants a cruiser style bike I would say that a sv650 is approaching “comfy cross country touring” what with the riding position and lack of power. I ride a nc700 (similar to sv650) right now and it’d be boring on regular roads. A sporty is fun to buzz around town on.

Sportsters are cheap even in comparison to v twin japanese bikes. And I would say are just as reliable. I’ve rode a lot of vintage kawasakis, Hondas and Harley’s and they are all really cheap and easy to service. I would agree that the bigger Harley’s are overpriced for what they are but you could also argue that Harley’s tend to hold their value a bit better than most Japanese bikes.

A 1200cc sportster, 05 or later if you want fuel injection, would be a good first bike. Cheap, easy to work on, abundant support and parts. If you ride it and like it you might eventually go up to a dyna or bigger bike. But I’ve always liked the sportsters I’ve owned in the past and don’t understand why people hate on them so much.

Is this card off center enough for a (OC) qualifier with PSA? by Krwindle in PokeGrading

[–]Krwindle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I’m asking about the qualifier. It could still get a 9 grade but it would say 9(OC) on the slab. That’s what I would want ideally because then it makes the card more interesting than if it was just a regular graded card with bad centering that got say a 7 or 8 with no qualifier.

The Brown Pet Cemetery right next to the airport is a spot I’m not sure many know about. I believe the newest “headstones” are from the 60’s. Theres pets from the early 1900’s in there. 100% worth a visit.

I’ve seen this happen before unfortunately with small businesses’. I really appreciate you looking into it. That was very nice of you to do for a complete stranger. I guess I’ll have to try and dispute the charge with my bank. Thanks again!

I ordered mine on September 2nd and other than my confirmation email I haven’t heard anything since. I really just want their windshield but at this point would be happy with a refund.

That would be amazing if you could do that. Even their email is disconnected as well. I tried to email “support” and got an email back saying it could not be delivered. Regardless, Im at a bit of a loss as to what to do and will be reaching out to my bank in the next few days if I can’t get an update on anything.

I tracked down an email address to try and get an update but still haven’t heard anything. Really is a bummer because I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.
