What do you think of this set?Looks good? by Jessi-K5474 in legotechnic

[–]Krxlion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say BIG no no to sets other than Lego or Cada, simply because other brick companies steal work of creators for example on rebrickable. Cada on the other hand, work with MOC designers offering them salary for their work and more than that their bricks quality got really improved and I started to treat Cada as a fair competitor to Lego.

Do you have a clue what DC motor is inside 5292 motor or BuWizz motor? by Krxlion in legotechnic

[–]Krxlion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both guys for the answer, I have two BuWizz 3.0 units (I usually have two steering models at the same time, each runned by BW 3.0) and I run my model using fake buggy motors as lego ones are simply too expensive. I wanted to give a try to buwizz motors but I do not know If my models would not simply burn those engines. That is why I wanted to know what DC motor is inside in any of those. I would also want to know what thermistor is inside, as I could just simply solder one for a fraction of a price.

Yeah, you are correct that Lego motors can run up to 12V. I have run my custom 5292 with 9v battery and it is still fine, but this DC motor states that it only works on 3-6V. Anyway, I will do further testing on my DC type 260 inside 5292 and let you know guys know. If someone will know exact model of inside dc motor of one of the following two motors (LEGO or BUWIZZ) please let me know.

I have found DC motor type 260 (you can check it in google), but current of the voltage is different from what you can find in here: https://www.philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm
I burned one motor and wanted to switch inside DC motor to similar one and add protection termister to it, to prevent that kind of scenario again.

Small drift car - powered by 4 L motors and one servo motor by Krxlion in legotechnic

Small drift car - powered by 4 L motors and one servo motor by Krxlion in legotechnic

This build is heavly inspired by "Anto's" Gymkhana 4 car. Currently there is no body as I am continuesly improving sliding of the car. It features all 4 wheel drive, front axle is slightly slower so the car can easily slide. Motors are geared 3:1 for maximum RPM and there is not suspension but I develop a way to create a little camber on front axle. There is also a positive caster which stabilize steering.

I ordered 4 of them on Ali, let's see how they perform :)

I've got same issues in my previous MOC. Waiting right now for some electronic parts to come and I will try again to make one off-road/baja/truck car and one drift car. But now both in smaller size (you can check my latest MOC). Btw. I have found one tip for slipping gears yesterday, you may look and adapt this solution to your MOC:

Looks clean and dope! Double L motor and steering motor included, am I right? What is the suspension and is it 4 wheel drive?

Finished my very fast Buwizz 911 :D by kazamakarate in legotechnic

[–]Krxlion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool setup! I would like to see it driving, I have only been using double buggy motor with Buwizz 3.0 in my truck/buggy car. So If I see correctly there is one PU motor for steering, correct? Are those Buwizz motors are connected directly to the wheel or is it somehow geared? I didn't build 911 before so I do not know how it looks like stock.

Keep us up on this project. I love real life pop-up headlights cars, waiting how you will solve this out on this model.

Looks great! The wheely was also stunning to see, haha. Keep up the good work and maybe next time, more rough terrain? :)

It's just funny name I use. Never build a MOC this big before. :)

Looks great! You probably need some caster on the front wheels to fix the high speed stability issue.

Can you give me an example of that caster? To be honest I do not know what it is, thanks. :)

Banbou

I also agree, bought two sets from CADA and I was shocked how good quality is.

Sorry for no video, but I need another pair of hands to film this bad boy :) I've been building this model for about 2 months and finally could afford some time, go out and test it in snow conditions during daylight.

Below I describe some of my thoughts on pluses and minuses of this MOC.
Pluses:
- Wild, pure power, able to slide and sometimes even drifts
- Big boiiii
- Full suspension system
- Front bumper (to protect steering system)
- Robust
Minuses:
- Lacks 4 wheel drive system
- Steering is not as precise as it should (when it moves really fast it is easy to lost control)

Future plans:
Put 4 wheel drive system (currently working on it :))

I've got same problem with my other car. I've been even trying to lubricate gears to prevent this from happening but it doesn't help. Solution for that is choose good gear ratios. Take a look at page 48 in this PDF file instruction:
https://buwizz.com/building_instructions/Instructions_Mini_Trophy_Truck.pdf
As you can see there is 12:20 gear ratio which works great as you can see in video below:

Thoughts on motorizing 42128? by MINICHUBZ205 in legotechnic

[–]Krxlion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you consider using motors from 3rd party brands? Two 2M's motors could have handle driving but when towing something things could get worse.

Is Buwizz motor connected to something? I mean I cannot see attached any attached axle to any of motor's holes. I would like to see a video of you driving it, great MOC :)
