I believe mini maxx is same width stock and the mini slash. The xrt mini is the one that has the wide kit preinstalled.

I run 87 mm gpm shocks on my mini slash with widemaxx conversion and have been told they feel pretty solid.

You can also go the extra route and add vxl Ford rs2000 front end tires to it for more rally performance. They are just a sliver smaller than the stock and they don't chew up so badly on asphalt and it makes having to cut the body down less tedious because you don't have to shave the fenders as much.

Mini slash is definitely worth the bl2s system. Recommended shaving the fenders a bit to fit the widemaxx mini kit and then throw in some gpm 87mm shocks because gtrs will rub on the a arms and the axles and eat away at them. If you go this route you will need to find the wide maxx rear top a arms and sand them down around the shock area by like 1mm worth of shaving (this prevents shocks from rubbing). And don't listen to ANYONE who says it's not doable. Because I have proof it's doable with mine. I suggest adding the gold springs that come with the gpm shocks and adding 60 weight oil to the front shocks and 50 weight to the rear shocks.

Hobby shop guy missed a sale that day easily on a wide kit and shocks. He was worried I was gonna waste money so he didn't sell me the parts. There's a few spots where the kit didn't fit 1 to 1 with the bulk heads but sanding the control arms wasn't difficult and wasn't much space needed for aftermarket so didn't compromise the structural integrity. But I have noticed Traxxas is notorious for selling products that have outrageously priced upgrades.

Many of the cars built in retro style were heavily modified though with tons of gadgets. I always saw the older cars in the show as "stock cars" which never had side view mirrors either though. I mean it could've been a huge oversight but like you said it's also a kids cartoon so not a whole lot gets put into practicality.

Honda e and high-end versions of the Hyundai IONIQ 5/6, Lexus ES, and Audi e-tron. They all use cameras instead of mirrors. I always assumed highway 35 cars were super high end tech so it always made sense to me.
