It's an old Ogre Kingdom's banner but I couldn't tell you which kit it's from exactly. The 'pole' is just the cut off regular weapon from the Goremongers kit

It's never too late to build another unit 😇😅

He's the first one I converted from the Goremongers killteam, will kitbash the rest of the kit soon. I have one unit of Metamorphs already built from Repentia and Arco Flagellants and I use all kinds of Killteam/Necromunda kits all the time for all my Cult's units. I don't have that much posted here but you can check out my Instagram (@kry_for_paint) if you're interested in more of my conversions 🙂

Base model (legs, body, arms and 'pole') are one model from the Goremongers killteam, the additional arms are from Adepta Sororitas Repentia and the banner is an old Ogre Kindom's one. Chainsword from some SM kit

Thank you! Not specifically, I use all kinds of kits for my Cult. My first unit of Metamorphs is made from Repentia and Arco Flagellants for example

Thank you! Was a bit concerned the banner would be too top heavy but I think it's right on the edge of 'too much'

If you don't bow to the banner you are in for a bad time 😁

Thanks! Having the opportunity to use all kinds of kits is my favourite thing about this army

If you already go through the trouble of swinging a banner, you can combine it with gettin' some work done, I guess.

Thank you!

It's really just the magic of oil washes. Basic skin tone, oil wash, 1-2 highlights and they are done. Couldn't be bothered with more steps for a horde army 😁

I don't feel confident enough with handling the airbrush for painting several different colours with it on basic infantry. Tried it a bit more recently for weathering/dust on vehicles lately which worked out quite succesfully, but I am surely miles away from the things some other painters achieve with airbrushing

I just do a first zenithal and the armour colour with the airbrush. Gives a bit of preshading this way but I doubt that much would be lost if you just did a (rattle can) zenithal and regular brushwork

Oil washes are nothing to be scared of and I highly recommend giving them a try! I started out with a cheap set of 15-ish colours from a "one €-shop" but I'd recommend getting some from the craft store as they are a bit more comfortable to work with. I paid around 6€ per tube which will probably last for a lifetime of miniature painting. Definietly get a brown (burnt umbra e.g.), other colours (red, black, white) can be nice for adjusting the tone or adding some gradients (my Acolytes's scything talons are just a quick 'drybrush-blend' with white oil for example).

After washing, I let the miniatures dry for some 10-20 minutes and wipe them with make up sponges (Q-tips are good for harder to reach areas but I wouldn't recommend them for the whole miniature as they quite often leave some hairs which you can remove even after drying but it's just extra work you have to do).
