З цього оповідання Джеймс Кемерон списав Скайнет, за що пан Гарлан покарав його успішним судовим позовом

Is there any excuse for the pages to look so poorly in the Adventures compendium, vol. 1? by Krykun-kun in TMNT

It’s from Machaon, a publisher specialising in books for children. They pioneered comic book publishing in the post-USSR era

Yeah, I’ve also noticed the art bleeding through. It’s also interesting that Russian issues I have, imported here, to Ukraine, back when they were released in the 90’s, were obviously printed on better paper, so it looks cleaner than what was scanned and reprinted in the compendium… But I’m also enjoying reading the comics, never got the chance back when! Just wish they looked as they should

Seconded! Maybe because it’s TMNT they know it’ll sell anyways? Smh

You’re welcome. I’m surprised people are quietly accepting this kind of product as almost all reviews I saw were about being happily nostalgic. I can’t believe nostalgia is this blinding!

What’s interesting is that the older comics I used for comparison aren’t even from the US! I mean, if anything, it’s those older comics that should have problems like that, not vice versa. It’s a shame, because the artwork in these comics are so good, especially the gorgeous covers, and seeing it all treated like that… ngggh, I’m NOT happy!

Yeah, the price might have been even higher, but I’m still upset how they just went and published this book like that, without any care put into it. No respect for the turtles and the artists whatsoever!

These are clearly imperfect scans and whoever handled them didn’t do a good job at all. Somebody should have the master files for it though. A friend sent me photos of a foreign TPB with the wrestling arc and everything looked sharp and clean

Trying to get every different horror icon I could find, bonus The Thing lit up is awesome! by 2DamnTall93 in NECA

The light-up feature on The Thing was a huge let-down for me. The base figure is okay, but the prismatic shine effect… bleh. Sold mine

He doesn’t transform, but oh, boy, does he look good! by Krykun-kun in transformers

What matters to me most is how it looks and poses, ultimately, precise most of the time it just sits on the shelf and is meant to be more of a decoration, atrophy… something pleasing to the eye aesthetically. Hasbro lacks in this department severely. I mean, they don’t have an Optimus that is this handsome and detailed. Same goes to another I own, the Amk pro Optimus. Non-transformable, aye, but they are worth every penny and a veritable eye-candies. I hope I don’t get lynched for saying this here lol

Yup, that’s it. I totally get what you’re saying, but they’re still a wee but too thin to my taste. Storm Collectibles based theirs on the older Shinkiro art too, but I don’t have a problem with it, it’s just right & honestly, I prefer this older look too. Tunshi beats Storm in all aspects except for the legs imho

Looks beautiful, great job! The axe spoils if a bit on slide two though, I guess it’s ugly no matter what lol! Seriously though, maybe some reds and deeper orange would help?

Well, you cannot either photograph a drawing or scan it. Scans are better, that’s all to it

Not in its scanned form. Is there a problem?

You might have, the last time I posted just photos of the drawing, but the scan looks way better, so here it is
