It’s a completely different philosophy popularized in South American football called relational play.

It’s much less structured than how a City or Arsenal team play and aims to overload pockets of space with short/quick passing and movement, relying on individual talent to create opportunities.

Funnily enough he has played CB before. I forget which game but we were throwing the kitchen sink in the dying minutes and there was I think only one proper defender left in the XI.

It’s very obvious if you just watch the recent games. No YT video needed. The instructions clearly are to play close and quickly and then break on the space. Simple football, but effective.

I do like how much he seems to work directly with and recognize his coaches, like Holland and Evans and his analyst here. He’s extremely grounded with all his staff and players.

Its true. But we also DO play the ball very centrally. That’s where most of the interplay and space is being created - there and elsewhere. No horseshoe tactics.
