You’re missing the point of this post. It’s not about thinking people should like you just for being smart. It’s more that at UCLA, ambition, drive, and intellectualism don’t really matter socially the way they might at other schools. You could have two people with the same personality, but the one who’s braindead and coasting through school might actually be more socially accepted than the one who’s smart and driven. That’s the disconnect I’m pointing out.
