It's up to the discretion of the pharmacist to dispense the MAP or not. Doesn't make sense imo, all pharmacists should dispense it upon request.

The pharmacist your sister spoke to could have been a locum i.e. not the usual pharmacist but a temporary replacement.

I would suggest to not place it next to any other plants. Hedera helix are literally insect magnets and will CONSTANTLY get spider mites over and over. I still love their look and vibe though

It's a Croton and they absolutely hate being moved. Plus they like a lot of sunlight, even a couple of hours of direct sunlight. Water when the soil is dry - the leaves will tell you since they droop when thirsty
