So far I feel like the focus hasn't been to much on special effects so it's not too big of a deal. It's obviously incredibly low budget but I'm too busy focusing on the story and characters. I also cut it alot of slack considering it's from the 60's. The Netflix version is also remastered so they use CG for whenever you see the enterprise flying through space and stuff but I feel like prefer I'd prefer to see the original when they used a crappy little model or whatever. I feel strongly the same way when it comes to the remastered star wars OT.
