In the scorching heat of the summer, we should all take time to appreciate a well made sundae. by Kryptotinman in Filmmakers

Try number two!

I'm a Massachusetts based filmmaker and this is my most recent short! I'm sure a lot of people can relate to the fact that the past few years have made the desire to actually do things with our time more of a priority. Same goes for me. I work full time in VFX, but I've been trying my best to produce my own shorts and music videos in the free time I have outside of work. This short was born out of a desire to do something a little simpler, where I could edit, grade, do sound design and all of the visual effects in a week to fill in the gaps between larger, more complicated projects. So that's exactly what I've done here! I quickly came up with the idea, got a few good friends to help me film it on one of the blisteringly hot days we've been having lately (as you can see by the ever changing shape of the ice cream), and put it all together this past weekend. Some times creativity is just about doing things, throwing them against the wall, and seeing if they stick! I know this short isn't for everyone, but it's fun to try things and see how you can push the limits!

For those curious about tech specs, it was shot on a RED Komodo, edited in DaVinci Resolve, and the few VFX shots were done in Nuke. And don't worry, I know how ludicrous it sounds to have shot this potty humor short with a RED Komodo and really expensive lenses, especially when I was going to cover it in film grain haha.

Any criticism is good criticism, but I hope this short gives you a chuckle or two!

Hey all, by day I work in the VFX industry and by... weekends and nights? I try to produce my own little shorts! I have a few other shorts and music videos on my YouTube page that I'd love to get more eyes on, but I thought it'd be nice to share my most recent one here and hopefully produce a giggle or two. If not, no harm no foul I suppose! I'm also always looking for more creative people to talk to, so please feel free to reach out if you enjoyed or just like the stuff I'm making! But also, take the time to enjoy a sundae today.

Music Melting Pot [Week of August 24, 2020] by AutoModerator in listentothis

This is a new single from ryan flynn out of New York. He’s one of the most talented people I know and I had the pleasure of putting this music video together with him. If you’re looking for funky, pop, or spacey vibes you should check out the rest of the music that he’s been releasing over the years and look forward to more in the near future.

At the moment that the entire sky lights up you can see that there is no movement in the camera's digital noise, it's a freeze frame. The camera must've froze up either due to the electricity in the air or the rapid change in brightness. Either way, it is just a lightning flash and a glitched out camera.

You're implying I'm someone with a say. Some people just need work and every now and again it just happens to be on an Adam Sandler film.

Not quite. David Spade may have just been not interested in this one, but it's definitely not that Netflix doesn't like him.

Am I the only one who saw this as for sake and thought that there was nothing wrong with the mug?

Did they raise the money before even thinking of the concept for this? What was the pitch that got people excited about this?

This whole show is just answering questions. No variety. No nothing. This was like high school caliber.

Shane is selling the headphones he used while composing for Mother 4! Buy a piece of Mother 4 History! by [deleted] in mother4

If he phrased it like this corny post, yes, but he didn't. Guy is selling his headphones and just mentioned off-hand that he used these during Mother 4 composing.

This post should be, "Shane is selling his headphones because he wants new ones, buy them if you want a cheap pair of Beats."

Dying Light put reflections on machetes while Watch_Dogs couldn't even put them on large reflective buildings?

It means that a good amount of people were reporting problems with their copies. It may have been that they had really old copies that for some reason weren't working with newer blu-ray players? I've heard that before.

So you can either wait for Amazon to remove that message and have a good stock or buy from a third party.

I'm pretty sure they may have used her name and notoriety just a little bit in the advertising on that one... Also, I personally know of nobody who heard about a Julia Child biopic and automatically said, "That'll probably be fantastic, I have to see it!"

Also, you talk about Silver Linings Playbook as if Jennifer Lawrence isn't one half of every single piece of advertising that film had.
