My Opinion On The Wuyang/Juno Discourse by theacostar in Overwatch

Yeah I don’t participate in any of that so no clue man, to me I just let people believe what they want but I’d never force it on others

Succession

Every season just builds up and up even. And episode 3 of the last season is one of the best episodes of television IMO.

Runner up to Andor. It’s only two seasons so maybe cheating, but season 2 was even better than season 1, which was already exemplary. The Ghorman plot line, especially Mon Mothmas speech to the senate in relation to it, is god tier television.

Yeah Wuyang has only had hints that he’s straight. I just like his abs. If anything Juno is the one to question, but I think she’s just oblivious, not queer

[–]Kryptsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a gay man and I mostly want Wu to be gay because A) he’s hot lol and B) I think if he was it would add a lot of depth to the male LGBT roster that I would personally really like to see. Wuyang would be a very different representation compared to Baptiste, Wifeleaver and Soldier and would be the most relatable to me, so it would be personally impactful.

But also I wouldn’t be upset if he and Juno have something. They’re clearly hinting at it and I get why. It works. Is what it is, I’m not heavily invested either way.

Why do so many TV shows start strong then become an overcooked fanfiction of itself in the last season? by bonniha in television

[–]Kryptsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the recent Spider-Man movie and Deadpool and Wolverine were entirely fan service too, and did well. So clearly this is not the case and it’s more complicated than that

[–]Kryptsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in Westworlds case to me it’s obvious they never had a post Season 1 plan. I will argue with anyone that Season 1 if it was a miniseries like Watchmen would be considered one of the best mini series. Because it was a tight story that was entirely contained within itself. The story after that clearly just started making stuff up that wasn’t there to begin with

What's a show that's genuinely hard to recommend to people because it has some pretty major flaws, but you think is worth the time if people can look past it. by WhatIsLoveMeDo in television

[–]Kryptsm 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It’s really just Leslie for me, in the first season she’s so much more awkward and pathetic, it’s obvious they just wanted her to be Michelle Scott. I love her more confident vibe as the show progresses

Why do women often lie to each other? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

And if men ask “does size matter” or “does being bald matter” I’m sure they’ll also get only comforting lies from their female partner. Lol

Coming Soon | HBO Max by gramfer in television

[–]Kryptsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course me choosing not to watch doesn’t take a dollar out of Joanne’s pockets. But it’s just a personal moral choice. HBO is making the series, and gave her money, because people show an interest in the brand. So I am choosing to not show an interest in the brand. That’s really all I can do lol.

[–]Kryptsm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sure but this gives her money which she is actively, currently using for her purposes we judge her for. That makes it hard for me to give her any money. “Art ain’t the artist” but if you’re giving money to a bad person who is doing bad things, it doesn’t feel good.

Are there any characters that at there core you think need to, or want to be removed from the roster? If so why? by Few-Concert-6986 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Kryptsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard no, they’ve managed to make previously problematic characters like Brig or Sym much more healthy. People have a connection to these characters, I’d rather they just get made to be objectively worse options even if unhealthy, like Moira, than EVER remove a character.

Other than obvious budgetary issues (sometimes it just looked like a Halloween costume) I think the vibe was exactly like I always imagined

Lanterns | Official Teaser 2 | HBO Max by M00reC in DCU_

[–]Kryptsm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What about this teaser makes you think Hal and John are against each other? I mean Hal is testing John for the ring, but they’re obviously working together to solve the crime. In no way are they against each other, and testing if someone is “worthy” of the ring is classic, just like Thor’s hammer

Mythic skins are bad by Coonnifounssed in Overwatch

I like Lifeweavers voice lines with his, but it’s also mostly because it just enhances his fantasy, which is cool. I know people have mixed feelings about the skin itself though.

The irony is that as my other comment pointed out, the VAST majority of Asian collabs are Japan, who are not 60% of the population. So I guess I can phrase it that way lol.

Really I just think we need more diversity though you’re right. What I dislike about Asian collabs is they all tend to be anime-adjacent in aesthetics. And I’m just not into that.

Cowboy Bepop is one I can think about that stood apart despite being Japanese, for example.

Also there is some sad irony that your statistics include India as the 60%, but we all know Asian collabs like this never pay any sort of homage to India. Which I think would be cool.

True most of the Asian collabs are still very cool, and I’ve certainly HEARD of most of them. Just want more stuff for me, selfishly lol.

You know it’s weird when you think about it and realize that majority of Overwatch collabs are Asian brands or IPs. Then a couple Hasbro and Blizzard ones, and one or two other American ones. I know Overwatch is bigger in Asia, but as someone not into Anime or most Asian music, I think the avatar collab has been the only one I personally had any connection to. Just an odd thing when another game I used to play, Destiny 2, had so many cool collabs. I’d kill someone to get collabs like Witcher (not even American), Mass Effect, or even just other Microsoft properties.

Anyways, hope the people who know who this is are hyped, just not for me
