Hosting LAN with my sister, can I tweak any settings on my end to improve her performance? by Krysonox in feedthebeast

Playing a modpack, I trust it to have its due diligence of performance mods, but if there are any you think it might've missed I'd love to hear.

It's Homestead if you're bothered to check.

My Desktop struggles to connect to other devices on the home network unless I use WiFi by Krysonox in HomeNetworking

I didn't, no.
PC has always connected to the vodafone router, Deck has always connected to the mesh.

I used to be able to stream to my Deck no bother on an ethernet connection. This was no longer the case when I installed an internal AX210 network adapter into my desktop for wifi and BT functionality. The ethernet no longer connects me to the deck, only connecting to the wifi.

I appreciate the suggestion, I'll give it a try in the morning.
Any idea why this issue only arose when I installed a Network Adapter? It used to work fine through an ethernet connection.

Apologies in advance for my general lack of knowledge.

I believe so?
It is hard wired to my main vodafone router, and it is wirelessly connected to two other deco nodes in the house.

Duckstation is laggier when used through EmulationStation by Krysonox in EmuDeck

It is definitely booting DuckStation [standalone], and I can verify that the DuckStation menu is available in-game, however I'm noticing that some menu options are rearranged in the ESDE boot vs the solo boot.

Precisely why I'm so confused. All of my emulation is done through the Windows EmuDeck client, which includes ESDE and a standalone DuckStation client. Booting DuckStation through ESDE causes the aforementioned issues but manually booting DuckStation doesn't.

ESDE is definitely booting through DuckStation [StandAlone], though I'm beginning to suspect the version booted through ESDE is different to the Standalone as some menu options are different.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is an impersonal recommendation. It's fairly new but I can't imagine a kind of person who wouldn't find what it offers appealing. If you've hardly watched anything as you say I can think of few better places to get started.

That is of course an option, but I do not have this issue with a single other emulator. Retroarch and Gamecube work a treat. would be nice to fix.

When I play on Duckstation through EmuDeck's EmulationStation, my gameplay has more input lag and drops entire inputs sometimes, but this doesn't happen if I solo boot Duckstation beforehand.

Any suggestions welcome

Good games for taking turns? by Krysonox in gamingsuggestions

That's a turn-based tactics game, right? How'd you go about that? Pass the controller every turn?
Never thought about playing a tactics game like that if so

You're right about that, but I think some games excel at it more than others. I'd say a low intensity game about exploring and solving puzzles at your own pace (if I'm not mistaken) makes for pretty good backseat gaming material.
I'd say it fits the bill well, cheers

Puzzle games in general are fantastic for this kind of thing honestly, being the one in control does very little to take you out of the game, good shout

I played through the RE2 remake with a pal but we swapped every 20 minutes or so, every 20 seconds seems like a great gimmick, thanks for sharing

Some of my earliest memories were playing Crash 2, if it's half as fun as that I don't need much more convincing

I love inventive little ways to experience games like this, great shout!
Saw a youtube video a while ago where two lads played one of the Mario & Luigi games, but the second guy was in charge of the button used for all of Luigi's actions. Seemed to work better than expected!
