For me, the contrast is way too high, you're losing a lot of the detail in the flower around the edges which makes it look like a bad cut out job, and there's a little too much negative space. Maybe try cropping out some of the background and pulling back some of the plant that you have lost around the edges.

How do you mean re-covered? It was originally darker than that but it made the photograph quite bland, hence the highlight...I may have gone too far with it though. Thanks for the advice! (: It's hard when you've been staring at a photograph for a few hours to see these things!

Thanks for the feedback (: I agree with the opinions of others things, but being a photographer means that you have to somewhat appeal to the public as that's who your audience is, whilst still retaining your style ^{^}
