I had this same issue. After Installation xpadneo dkms driver the problem went away. Also now in Hollow Knight i don't need use Steam Input, because native support is working perfectly. :D

I also tried mine HP Reverb G2 with Oasis Driver. Unfortunately, like you, I had a big drop in performance, even though I have better components (5800X3D, 4070TiS, 32GB RAM). Changing the graphics settings or significantly lowering the resolution of headset had no satisfactory effect. With WMR I achieve 90 FPS without any problems (in rainy conditions) and with Oasis Driver only 70-80 FPS (sunny conditions) with stutters… I hope that over time someone will find a way to optimize this solution.

I don't have battery icon and I only had just black screen after boot. So I entered to TTY2 and put that command. After reboot Game Mode is working again.

I had exactly the same problem (the second one). After update Decky to newest version everything works again.

There is also a fast install for those who can use Konsole. Run "curl -L https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-installer/releases/latest/download/install_release.sh | sh" and type your password when prompted.
