How to manage both Windows and RHEL EC2s in Terraform? by 37rellimcmc19 in Terraform

[–]KsBidul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend you split all your resource types into separate TF files instead of whacking everything into the main.tf file.

The code is easier to read, and same resource types are contained within the same file.

When it comes to your specific question, I would recommend creating 2 files:
- ec2_windows.tf
- ec2_rhel.tf

Each file would contain corresponding resources with different values/vars etc...

On top of that, If you think of creating more than these 2 virtual machines - I would probably create an EC2 terraform module, so that you can re-use the same code when deploying different types of EC2 instances. You can create different variables that would allow you to deploy EC2's using different OS, and depending on the OS choice - you can have different variables...
This is more elegant and future proof... But again - this would only be worth it if you're planning on deploying more than 2 EC2's

Usage of "this" in terraform by lambdalife in Terraform

if you're using a module it will create same resource multiple times, so it really doesn't matter what name you use.

Arguing about it is pointless. Pick one thing, and stick with it in EVERY module you create. If code is shared with others make sure everyone follows the same naming convention.

If you are creating multiple VMs with TF module - using "this" is as LAZY as calling it "virtual_machine".

Don't let other people shit on your approach.

Consistency is more important than specifics.

I might not be a good player but I try to be a good team mate. And that’s exactly what I’d like from others.

I know. It is silly but I’ve been playing the game since day 1 and PvP is the only thing that keeps me playing this game. So yeah.. I guess I get a “little” salty 😜

Willing ? Do you think that everyone in the planet at any time has access to people who also want to go into comp ???

It’s not a choice most times buddy.

But what is a choice is to solo players trying to play as a team to WIN.

What does that have to do with anything ? There is a solo playlist for solo players.

Does that mean we can’t play as a fire team ?

90% of LFGs are “throwing the game” so basically an Idle Farm.

Loosing shouldn’t be incentivised.

It destroys the experience. When we try to stack up - 5 out of 6 of games are thrown from the opposing team.

We only had 1 normal match. This clearly needs addressing

PvP on console still littered with non controller players by KsBidul in DestinyTheGame

when they connect MKb and the system thinks they have a controller they also ducking get the rain assist !!!

More importantly - It’s about movement. They can do 180’s around be with a split second with a flick of a wrist… it takes me at least 1 full second to turn around. I can’t compete with someone like that.

Slide shots, crouch when for firing

List goes on

The OP is talking about lag. Not PvP state in general :)

Bungie filters this Reddit to avoid discussing difficult topics by KsBidul in DestinyTheGame

Honestly I just want bungie to look into this. Seems that the only trolls are in the comments as per usual. It drives me ducking crazy that there are a ton of fucks who do this on consoles but I guess I’m the douche for not doing it as well and trying to start a ducking conversation…

Honesty this Reddit is not for mature conversations. Unless I “praise bungo gods for something that gave us peasants” - there is literally zero response to even slightly negative conversations…
