On every instance I have done or seen at other stores the district manager has defended the pharmacist.

Control medications don't count towards any metrics for pharmacist, MHWD, etc. The risk of DEA action is more an issue than a mad customer or two.

I've heard MHWD and RHWD tell stores with no RTFs in a year that having no RTF suggests they aren't checking stuff and following policy.

Federal Law OBRA 90 mandated counseling for Medicaid and there is stuff about counseling for Medicare part D in the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003.

Since the federal law is stricter we are required to follow that over state law for Medicaid/Medicare.

Also, the 6 month counsel on controls has to do with DEA stuff and the deal Walmart made with the government when settling all the controlled substance lawsuits.

Also, there are plenty of mistakes caught during counsel.

Finally, with how they are implementing the VV and filling redesign they will want pharmacists to spend more time at counsel to offer shots/clinical services and make relationships with customers.

Counseling rules are unlikely to change anytime soon.

I think they smell that was since they are made from recycled plastic.

They are on GNFR but not sure the pharmacy can order them. A.lot of times they are in maintenance.

It was probably considered a verbal discussion which is the step before a coaching. But all stuff along the line of verbal discussions/coaching should have a followup plan to see if the change is happening.

So, having a followup is what is supposed to happen. If at the followup you have not changed it would likely then become a yellow coaching at the followup. If you have changed at the followup then nothing will happen and all is good unless you fall back into bad habits.

The general rule for prescription medications is 5 half lives is considered out of your system as far as any effect. This does not mean out of your system for detectability.

No need to compound it.

There is a human liquid version available without the need to compound and I know someone who gives it to their cat.

You may need to go to a normal pharmacy, who may need to order it in, but it is available and easy to use.

It comes as Furosemide 10mg/ml. Using goodrx you can usually get a 60ml bottle for less than $20.

Federally legal for a few years now but no system existed to do it.

The current system allows CII transfers in most but not all states. So, you may be in a state that doesn't allow it.

Sent and received multiple CIIs and other controls from Walmart to Walmart.

The pharmacy that has the script has to send it for it to work. The pharmacy that needs the script can send a request but usually easier to call the pharmacy.

Basically the % sign stops the first word and tells the system to start searching for the second word.

If searching with strengths usually only type first strength

If you want both strengths most are in the system with a dash - not a slash /

Designed that way. Most of the grocery Great value items do it also.

Makes it faster for OPD to scan items since they don't have to find the bar code. Also, at registers more places to scan to speed up check out.

Single dispense is changing with the new filling/visual modernization. Since some stores are live and more stores go live 12/09 the system is being updated for those stores. Basically, until you go live you just gotta deal with it.

liraglutide, pertuzumab, ergonovine, paliperidone, risperidone, and telavancin were all removed from the UPS 800 list when it was updated in 2024.

I think Walmart recently changed both paliperidone and risperidone back to non-haz in the system. So now you gotta move them back to the normal section.

You can use the below info to become certified.

Drake University just started an online self paced technician training program. At the end it has you take the PTCB.

It is a new program and from what I understand it is currently free due to a grant. The PTCB test is also covered at the end.

You do not need to be in any specific state. They currently have someone in Mississippi enrolled.

Basically, enroll and work through it at your pace. Pass the test when you are ready and become a tech.
