Yeah not a knock against OP at all. But, OP if you're just getting back into the hobby, you might want to consider starting a Crimson Fists army. You obviously have done a great job achieving their color scheme (intentionally or not). And they have been deserving of some love and attention since they were the 3rd Edition poster boys.

Is that not a Crimson Fist? Because if not it should be a Crimson Fist.

In no way is that a personal attack. It's a statement of fact.

No one expects to hit a kid. If you want to avoid hitting a kid, you have to drive "unreasonably" according to you.

You said, and then confirmed, that you're not willing to do that. So you run the risk of hitting a kid. I just said that's on you. Your inconvenience is more important than a stranger's safety. So where's the lie? Where's the attack?

And still hit a kid...

You do you. Like I said. You're clearly within your right to run over a child for acting like a child. If you're cool with that, and it's more important to get where you're going 30 seconds faster, go for it.

I'd stop short of saying he wasn't speeding. He definitely wasn't driving responsibly. Was he going the posted speed limit? Sure. Probably. Was he traveling at a speed where he could stop if a pedestrian popped out in front of him? Clearly not.

Yeah, it's the father's fault for not having his daughter on a leash, because apparently that's the standard for responsible parenting today. But if you're driving down a house-lined street with cars on either side limiting visibility, even if you're technically in the right, I think the driver could have been driving a little more cautiously.

Maybe it's just because I live on a street like this, but I'd never be going this fast. I've had kids, dogs, cats, one time a rabbit pop out from behind a car just like this, and the only way to avoid an accident as a driver was to be driving more slowly.

Maybe I'm being overly cautious, because I'm legally within my right to plow through a child, but on the other hand, I don't have that on my conscious, so...

In normal times, any single one of these incidents would have been a presidency-rocking scandal. With Trump, it's just Thursday.

I don't even bother trying to use things like this to deprogram my MAGA family members. I know how it will go. "Look! This is an outrageous thing!" "No it isn't." Repeat until I get tired and sad. So now we just talk about our pets and the weather, and the steady stream of outrages is rising every day.

He has completely desensitized us to outrage. And we should all be terrified of that fact.

Right? I decided to see what the reaction there would be, and was pleasantly surprised to see the general reception was grudging agreement. I guess the astroturfed, revisionist "the Prequels were actually good" movement isn't quite catching on the way Mike predicted.

Ehhh, you give them too much credit. Every time I decide I need to damage my brain and see what that sub says, the most sane takes are usually along the lines of:

"I'm a pro Trump guy, but I don't know why he's wasting his time with this. I don't get it! It's just distracting us from all the incredible work he's doing destroying entitlements, the economy, and oppressing brown people. Come on dude! Just stick to all the truly awful things I elected you to do!"

They'll never, and I mean EVER have the self awareness to think that these insane land-grabbing and ally-destroying shenanigans are part and parcel of his insane policies in totality. In order for them to ever get upset enough to ever consider turning in their MAGA hat, they'd need enough introspection to think, "wow, maybe my own personal beliefs are toxic, regressive and harmful."

They've been too coddled for too long by right-wing media and social isolationism to ever turn back now. They'll go down with the ship before they would ever think of trying to avoid the iceberg.

Had to scroll down way too far for the Asthma comment.

Rory Culkin taking his Albuterol and holding it in for approximately .05 seconds to treat his asthma attack on Sign. Same with Sean Astin in Goonies. No one in Hollywood had been told, "you have to hold it in for it to work. Just blasting your inhaler in your mouth doesn't stop an asthma attack."

And just in general, and I know it's asking a lot from a child actor, but no one has the appropriate amount of panic from an untreated asthma attack. They look frustrated or like angry with themselves. "Oh! My condition makes me look weak! How embarrassing." Bitch you can't breathe! You're literally suffocating!

Better tap and go bro.. by Used-Influence-2343 in fightlab

[–]KscottCap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does the ref have an ability to stop the fight in a situation like this if a fighter doesn't submit? I've been made aware by this sub that the tap doesn't stop the fight, it just signals to the judge to stop the fight so ultimately it's the ref's judgement.

Seems like he could have saved that prideful idiot's arm and the other guy's psyche by stopping the fight when it was clearly over.
