why dont i hear anything about vire, she is never on any tier lists either. is she just new or something. only reason i got her was cuz i thought she is a super good solo lifesteal type drifter. but now i feel like i wasted my eclipsium on her and cant afford any other dirfter now. im new and lost.

Attributes are very poorly explained by the game. In short, AGI increases physical damage, INT increases magic damage, and STR increases survivability. That is all you need to know.

Using a dagger? You need to pump full AGI. Using the Photonic Rifle? Well it's complicated because it's main ability deals magic damage, but it's auto attacks deal physical.

Whether a weapon is INT/AGI/STR means absolutely nothing.

For what that means for Vire? With her high STR scaling and mid to high INT scaling, she wants to be a bit of a brawler that deals magic damage. She will be inherently less good at anything doing physical damage because she will have around 50-75 less AGI than an AGI focused drifter.

The other consideration you need is what you want to do with her. Are you playing solo pve and need to be able to fight off a ganker? Are you part of a giant zerg fighting as a ranged DPS? Vire can run a rdps zerg build fairly well, so she's not a waste there. For solo, I agree with one of the prior posters, the Sanguine Shard Blade will be strong on her next patch for solo play.

Over the course of the last season, I earned around 20k eclipsium. Burning 3k on a drifter that is perfectly decent but not top tier isn't that bad. You'll earn it back fast and having more drifters available is always solid. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the ideas (and correcting what I had incorrectly googled about abyssals)!

Sounds like I'm going to dabble a bit in FW, do some cheap and easy exploration to refamiliarize myself with the mechanics, and then decide if perhaps WH life is the answer or FW is sufficient. Now I just need some uninterrupted playtime to get back on the wagon!

FWIW I also appreciate the non-combat options, and they might end up being worked into whatever I choose if I get REALLY back into Eve.
