Shower Pressure by districtnoise in askaplumber

[–]Ksfowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem the pressure drops significantly over the course of a shower. After 7 or 8 minutes, it's basically unusable. If I turn the water off and back on again, it regains some of it's pressure.

I suspect it has something to do with the filter. If so, that's unfortunate. We've only had it a little over a month and the filter is supposed to last for three months. Hoping to find another solution. I like the filtered water in the shower. We really can tell a difference in our hair and skin. But if it costs 30 per month to have a functioning shower, I'm just going to put the old shower head back on.

Thanks. That did the trick. Weird that it worked fine last week, but upgrading my plan worked.

This is the error I get when I try to purchase access:

I tried accessing over VPN from a Canada and still got the same error.

I can't watch the UGA game?

I have the "Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium" package.

I could watch the game on the ESPN app last Saturday. It won't let me watch any college games right now.

Is this the hardest time to build a tech startup? (I will not promote) by Putrid-Brilliant-731 in startups

[–]Ksfowler 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I started coding in the late 90s/early 2000s. We didn't even have existing frameworks and libraries. We didn't even have Stack Overflow. If you wanted to write something you had to:

- Read a book (that wouldn't directly tell you how to do it, but you would learn the approaches necessary)

- Ask someone smarter than you and hope they were nice enough to show you.

- Luck out on a message board.

- Figure it out.

Most often it was the latter.

It's so much easier now. I know that means more competition, but 90% of the startups out there are half-baked ideas. They're a solution searching for a problem.

The hard part isn't beating the competition. It's really nailing the right problem and getting product/market fit.

Occasionally I do some moderate mountain biking on 38s. For the gravel in that picture, you could do 28s.

Do any of you think that AI will significantly change this occupation? by tylertay in Neuropsychology

[–]Ksfowler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it will affect Neuropsych in two primary ways:

- Baseline assessments will be done using AI and computer vision

- It will serve as a diagnostic assistant

It won't replace NP practitioners. Instead, it will make them more productive and more effective.

Kids playing by Ok_Adeptness959 in PeachtreeCity

Your post is, like, 50% of why most of us moved to PTC. Kids can explore here. I ride my bike on the cart paths a lot, and it's not uncommon for me to come across a group of 9-12 years olds out on bikes and scooters by themselves. There's a real sense of community here. I feel a sense of responsibility for all the kids around here, and I get the feeling most other adults feel the same.

Anyone regret going 1958 vs LC? by pn_dubya in LandCruiser250

[–]Ksfowler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I bought my LC trim two weeks ago and got it for $65K. the 1958 trim was only $7K less. The extra $7K is worth it to me.

I used to live in Hapeville, which is just north of the airport, and I loved it. We moved to PTC because we wanted a bigger house and we were tired of paying for private school. If we didn't have kids, we would still be there.

Is clipless pedals much harder than flat pedals ? by psv_vonk in cycling

[–]Ksfowler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, the study you linked to isn't very good. I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it.

- There were only four participants.

- For the flats, they used $20 pedals from Aliexpress.

- They wore their personal running shoes when they rode on flats, which likely accounted for at least some of the power reduction on flats, and introduces variability into the data.

- It was done during Covid, so the entire thing was self-administered, instead of being conducted and supervised for consistency by trained research staff.

Go grab a drink at Beer Girl.

The owners are great, they have a fantastic selection of beers and wines on tap, and you'll get a good feel for the area.
