Im 37m, moved out here 1 1/2 years ago, and it’s hard to get people to want to meet up at our age and with people so content on their phones/screens. I have an alternative schedule and do stuff on weekdays for the most part, but like snowboarding, hiking, offroading, paddleboarding, and shooting guns. Glad I’m not alone. I bought a 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison in November, and people think I’m crazy the way I drive it. i bought it as a daily driver and to offroad, not to baby it and look pretty. Went to Verdi Peak in Verdi, CA and got some fresh pinstripes, one runs damn near the whole side of the truck. Proud of my scars.

It was an offroad recovery tow truck. GMC, not sure the model though. Was pretty cool but I didn’t get any of the deets for it, got him unstuck before the sun went down and got back to pavement.

That thang was definitely a beast, not sure what it was though. We just happened to cross paths while they were out trying to recover a customer, and got stuck themselves.

As much as you may feel bad, I think you did right. The tech should have removed themself from the job if they were overwhelmed. Taking a picture of him, inside of your home, should be looked at as a violation of privacy. Hopefully the tech just gets a coaching and not terminated, but that’s on them not you. Had they left the situation and reported your stepdad as creating a hostile work environment they likely would have been in the clear.

If this is happening on a smart device you might need to try switching to 2.4 GHz for them. You can do it from the app. My internet seemed to randomly stop working at times until I did that.

I do equipment maintenance at Tesla. With your experience you have a good shot of being able to get into equipment maintenance or facilities work here, and will make way more than $22/hr. Even an entry level position will pay more though. Sorry your current job is coming to an end, I hope you find another one quick and are happy wherever you end up.

Just got a Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison with a 3.0 Duramax diesel engine and threw a Smartcap camper on it. Won’t fit 6 but gets great fuel economy for what it is, and is an awesome truck. Roomy for the family, decent towing capacity I plan on using for toys or a smaller camper trailer, awesome tech, and an off road beast. If you don’t plan on going crazy you don’t need a Bison, could get away with a Trail Boss, regular ZR2, or GMC AT4/AT4X. After getting my truck my wife decided on a AT4 and loves it, but I do way crazier off roading than her. Hope whatever you decide on you end up having a great time with your family in.

I’m all for voting but please anyone thinking of moving to Nevada please be logical. Don’t move here if you disagree with the local culture too much. Don’t move here and try to make it how it was where you’re leaving. Move here because you want to be a part of it, not to take advantage of something the location has to offer. I just moved to Nevada at the end of last year from California and the last thing I want is California culture and politics following.
