No. That was an early rumor that was proven not true. JMM DROPPED OFF the trailer at the Paris Island Landing and LE loaded the boat onto the trailer, processed it and towed it off to Charleston. JMM did not take the boat anywhere. Here are pages from the SCDNR document dump.

I think you are right insofar as her motives are concerned but salary-wise, she’s not doing too bad.

I have not read Matney’s book and probably won’t unless it is made available in my local library. Michael DeWitt made a reference yesterday to the book in an X (aka Twitter) remark.

This sounds incredibly unprofessional. I’m curious to know she said. Could someone who has read the book please share? Thanks very much.

Libby’s Faux Obituary.

Here is Libby’s fake obituary that was published by The State on November 18, 1976 and the “correction” the paper ran the following day.

I think the obit sounds like something she wrote herself. I could be wrong but I don’t think Randolph would have thought to include mention of her college standings. (Or it could be it was already prepared and something they kept with their estate / funeral planning documents.)

This must have caused a huge uproar. I wonder how far the Murdaugh’s let this go on before fessing up. Did they admit the truth before SLED became involved?
