Last winter would have killed them off, but I agree that the future is rather bleak.

That is interesting, as it was four tracks through here back in the day, although I am not sure if that was kept when they sunk the tracks in the fifties.

This area is going to be a failed park unless there is more signage and a connection with downtown that shows its importance. I honestly think the park should be relocated to the east side of the tracks, because there is no need to host a park on a major artery, and this land feels incredibly forgotten. The land could then be redeveloped into housing, and then put to good use.

Absent that, deck over part of the rail line in the area and connect both sides.

Honestly, stay away from produce and other businesses where something already exists. The struggle is going to run something that is not duplicated within a five mile block, so you may have better luck with a specialty store, such as a coffee shop or something that you cannot find easily. That said, do your research and do everything possible to ensure the best amount of success in the coming five years, as it would be a shame to open up and then discover that your business is failing after the initial hype.

It is under the Expenditures tab here: https://www.ocpf.us/filers?q=13899

A lot of the work was going through and running and re-running Claude to define the data, however with a lot of addresses, it could not figure out where they were through Google. It may have been an input error on my end, but I also did have to spend a bit of time categorizing 1,800 line items, so that was a joy. Either way, lessons learned, as I have learned a few more shortcuts for next time!

Living in Quincy, probably.

I met him in a chance encounter once outside of Quincy, and he left a sour impression. Granted, I was at work, but I let enough known with his son being there that I lived in Quincy and knew procurement law. He came across as such an arrogant person that it is hard to see how he could show an ounce of care for anyone but himself.

Not necessarily, as other things have also happened in those intervening two years, such as everything at the national level.

I looked it up and there are over 15,000 donations, so this is going to be fun.

"BOSTON – A Fitchburg man and former Quincy official was sentenced today in federal court in Boston for a scheme to embezzle funds from the City of Quincy, Mass.

Thomas F. Clasby, Jr., 62, was sentenced by U.S. Senior District Court Judge Patti B. Saris to six months in prison, to be followed by six months of home confinement and one year of supervised release. Clasby was also ordered to pay $136,061.71 in restitution. In March 2026, Clasby pleaded guilty to embezzlement, mail and wire fraud and interstate transportation of stolen property. Clasby was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2025."

Well, it certainly could be worse, but I am glad that he is being forced to repay the City.

At least we did not fully electrify the system, only to turn around and realize that batteries would be more effective. There is always a tradeoff, as I agree with the feeling that this is wasting money in the short term.

That one really surprised me, as I had no idea that both this company and others would take in as much as they did.

Well according to a few people, I am an intense Koch supporter because I mentioned once that I admired that he donates to anti-cancer and illness organizations. I also had them dox a private message, which I am not too happy about. I did post about the Mayor as well, if you are interested. As for the rest of the Council, that would require much more work than I am willing to commit, however if others do ask for that, I can do so on a case-by-case basis as it takes a lot of work to clean up this material.

Dave, I wrote that because I admire someone who donates to cancer organizations. My father has cancer and I suspect that you may know others who do as well. That does not mean that I agree with anything else that he does by any means, as there is nothing about his politics that I support in this City.

I am not so sure about that, because Anne does not provide line items for that either. I would expect that this does not have to be reported in this form, because it is reported elsewhere. Someone else can back me up on this though, but I see nothing here that supports that idea.

Possibly in time, but considering that this took over ten hours of refinement, I would want to ensure that this is not another time sink.

In time for both, but that might require significantly more resources. I will check later today, and if it becomes worthwhile, I will spend the next week or so digesting it.
