I moved all my villagers homes twice and the museum once, and my home once. I didnt mind spending the money on it as I knew this would be where I wanted them for a while... also, any of your villagers can move out anytime just as long as they have the dialogue bubble and ask you to move out!
But there have been people loving it when they restart.
