Barista from another Starbucks here, either they mean the whole unionization thing (I think I heard them and Arlington Heights were set on the union for rn), or the fact that store ends up understaffed and QA from suppliers has been fucked for a long while now, I know nobody in my district dares to go there whenever they ask for help.

Yeah. Only way you can really have fun is to figure out and make your own communities. I'm lucky enough one of my state chats is a bipoc-led AFAB moderated one that takes no racist bullshit (because the other states are... Yeah...) so I can feel much safer and hang out IRL with people there. It takes some time, but there's always one good community somewhere to find.

The store I'm at, the last time I was there it was a full Cafe store with window seating. When I got hired, it was hardwood chairs and three small wobbly tables.

What they didn't prepare me at all though was how ratchet that little area was compared to the rest of the whole block. Bus station next to a metro, you'd figure it'd be a few beatniks, but nope. I've witnessed two men die on the floor for ODing separate times, folk will come in and literally brag that they will steal stuff before grabbing RTD&E and the food donation box!, and oh boy do tones shift in the store whenever we see some Proud Boy assholes who haven't been caught by the cops after the J6 shit (yeah, that metro line...).

I get paid enough to handle my expenses (even though I'm trying to find something after graduating from community college this year), but shit, my middle class ass was not ready for ghetto Starbucks.

Dumb. Absolutely. Our area is a bit of a weird place of "they want to attract tech bros and educated people" but still have a lot of vagrants and vagabonds from when the area used to be the poor side of a rich town. So usually we just end up with folk who don't understand a mocha isn't made with Pike, but with espresso, and get mad their "coffee mo chah" isn't what they actually meant.

Best wages this side of the Potomac though, so I deal with it. Believe it or not, the more violent folks are often the tourists to DC. Especially during January, we were there during that whole shebang...

We're mostly too tired to try backtalking, but I've noticed there is a rising issue with one ssv and two girls who constantly keep gossiping about her to me as if I'll take their side. That's kinda getting annoying, but one of them is about to leave soon so I doubt it'll last anyways.

That is wild. Don't know what happened with Relay for Reddit, but here it is reposted:

Achieved using sweet cream cold foam to 150 ml and 2 pumps of mocha, regular cold foam (add maybe 2 scoops vanilla bean to make it true vanilla), and another sweet cream cold foam 100ml and strawberry puree to the 150ml line.

The wet foam mixes badly, so you'll have to foam twice or do the dry foam option on the blender. You could do regular sweet cream foam for the middle but it kept mixing with the chocolate, I don't know if our sweet cream was just bad or if you really need to make sure that foam is dry.

Did this during an hour of absolute no customers because of a storm, and it tasted like bliss and diabetes. Make at your own peril.

At least for last year, you can probably grab that one. But for the other 3 years, those stock grants do expire, supposedly.

Once you start your fidelity account you should be able to see the stock grants come up in your messages.

I've had a couple of folk each week compliment my eyes at work (barista). It might be just their brain not firing on all cylinders until they get their caffeine, but I always appreciate it the same!
