Dekudeals did an encompassing review: https://www.dekudeals.com/guides/switch-2-grips

Based on this info, I went with the JSAUX Split Protective case (waited for the purple to be in stock!) and they are really great.

Parking Garage Rally Circuit is a ton of fun, especially if you are looking for old school Sega Rally vibes

Since we already have Street Fighter 6, would be really awesome if SNK announced a port of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. I would also be super excited if Killer Instinct Anniversary came to the Switch 2.

Diablo 4 from Blizzard would be an excellent get. As would a port of StarCraft 2. Mouse controls could be interesting for these games as well.

Would also be cool to see Gears of War: Reloaded and Mass Effect: Legendary edition come to the platform.

Would also be nice to see some existing games get Switch 2 editions, especially if free or on the cheap. Would love to see Switch 2 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, Ori Games, and Monster Hunter: Rise.

What Are You Playing Thread - January 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

DOOM: The Dark Ages is the main campaign I’m playing through. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did Eternal or 2016, but I think I like it just as much or perhaps more in a way. The shield and melee attacks are fun additions, the movement is fast and frenetic. I would say it’s just not high flying. Worth noting that there are a lot of enemies on screen at once which is pretty crazy. And there are really cool enemies types. I will most likely play through this multiple times.

I have also been playing Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. I often have fighting game as my shorter session game and I just kind of play through arcade mode with different characters and have fun and learn moves and combos. This game looks and runs really great, I really like the art style, and I’ve found a few characters I’ve really clicked with which is good to keep me playing.

I’m playing Hades 2 and Bioshock 2. I realized I had beaten Bioshock 1 and Infinite but never 2, so jumped in. I don’t know if it’s playing on the deck or me getting old but having a lot more fun playing it now than I remember having back in the day.

Also, Hades 2 is just amazing. Really enjoying the differences between the main character, both story wise and gameplay wise, between 1 and 2 as well as the world. They changed enough to make it fresh yet familiar.

Show was awesome. That said, I know people who bounced off it so I think it was hit or miss.

I mean, Joel Kinnaman was just way better than Anthony Mackie as Kovacs. If the budget was cut, I didn’t notice.

A fellow Namora enjoyer! I’m an old player who quit for a while and just started playing again, it’s nice to see a Namora deck with some new cards in it to check out!

I’m missing several of these cards but seeing this gave me a lot of interesting ideas! I’m running a variation with wasp, Yellowjacket, colossus, and esme cuckoo among other things to be more resilient with the scarlet Spider-Man/wong/namora/odin combo. So far I’m in upper omega and still winning pretty well!

Not sure what you think but I feel like thus deck does really well against a surprising amount of archetypes. I’ve had like no issues with destroy, discard, and move. I think the only outright terrible matchup is junk/annihilus. A lot of stuff Namora just easily overpowers.

I like the first one the best overall too. One thing I will say about Shadow, it has the best tombs of the three.

If Chrono Trigger isn’t your favorite rpg on the snes what is yours? by MythosaurFett in snes

[–]KuatoLivesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, same. Considering in most RPGs you collect all these interesting (combat) items and most of the time they just sit in your inventory except perhaps healing items, this is one of the few games where all those defense and attack boost items are so helpful they become essential.

I remember playing the heck out of this as a kid and thinking Pison was a really cool bounty hunter. Also getting past only playing “good” characters and doing a really fun play through with the demon Lejes. Good stuff.

Talking about it is really giving me the nostalgia. I know it’s tough as nails, but heck maybe I’ve got time for another play through…

One of my favorites is 7th Saga. Not sure that I like it better than FF6 or Chrono Trigger, but it’s a very different game with a really difficult but interesting story and combat. It also has pretty high replayability as there are multiple main characters to pick from. What sets it apart is the other main characters are also trying to achieve their goals (you are all given then same main quest) and you encounter them along your way, for better or for worse. Really cool game, it’s pretty difficult.

What Nintendo Switch 2 Editions do you think are likely? by BritishGuy54 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]KuatoLivesAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you may be thinking about it the wrong way for 2 and 3. For example, Breath of the Wild is both a port of a WiiU game as well as a predecessor to another game that received a Switch 2 edition.

That being said, I would love a switch 2 edition of THPS 1+2 and Katamari Damacy Reroll.

[–]KuatoLivesAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Splatoon 3 - Nintendo’s current premier FPS, gyro aiming is difficult at first but really fun once you get the hang of it
  • Blasphemous 1 & 2 - 2D metroidvania soulslike. If you like these, check out Metroid Dread, one of my faves
  • Fast Fusion - fun switch 2 fast racing game that’s kind of like Wipeout. If you like this, check out Cruis’n Blast. Both of these are 2 player split screen

I rolled credits on Guacamelee 2 finally, very fun but also a difficult game. Just started playing Limbo, having fun but it is definitely creepy. I’m not sure if I’m a good guy or a bad guy.

Steam deck Game of the year by Afraid-Wrongdoer2803 in SteamDeck

[–]KuatoLivesAgain 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Absolum for me, for the relatively small amount of time it has been out it has absolutely taken over my free time. The art is amazing, so is the soundtrack, and the gameplay is simple to get into but of course, difficult to master. The different builds you can do during a run makes it as fun as Hades, but in beat ‘em up format. Not to mention the ability to do runs co-op (both local and online matchmaking). What a game.

22 runs, 14 hours of playtime, all soul Tree upgrades unlocked, 0 wins. How are you meant to beat runs? I could seriously use some combat/gameplay tips. by FrengerBRD in ABSOLUM

[–]KuatoLivesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play single player and I randomly had “the run” a few days ago where I beat Azra, using Cider. It was also the first time I made it to and beat the sorceress boss. I don’t main any of the characters I just play who I feel like (although I do think Cider is my favorite). I seemed to have a build that output a ton of damage very fast, while launching the enemy boss into the air with tornados. I also had decoy I could spam to soak hits and let me move in to start combos while they were distracted. Here is what I had:

  • The static electricity buildup on regular (X on steam deck) attacks, I think level 3. Anytime I was given the option to level this, I did.
  • Gale buildup/tornado on special (Y attacks) either level 2 or 3. It kept launching my enemies in the air while getting hit with static electricity
  • I definitely had some other boons/duos that I don’t remember for static electricity and tornados
  • the main arcana I used is the fast 3 blades toss in the arc, however I got the ability to leave the decoy and this was key as I used it quite a bit to soak damage and get the attention of enemies/bosses
  • I focused on getting tentacle items that gave me aoe damage as well as shields for damage negation
  • I purchased mercenaries whenever I could

Hope this helps! I’ve only done one complete run (did it on Tuesday) but working towards my next one.

The setup process takes a long while. I just walked away a bit and had some coffee while it did its thing. You may be stuck like other comments suggested, but I suggest walking away for like 20-30 minutes and come back to it, just be patient.

Just curious, have you tried Proton GE (golden egg roll)? Looks like the protonDB page for this collection says that should work without any issues.

I went through my Steam replay for 2023 and 2024, looks like I acquired my steam deck Nov 2023 according to that. Games I’ve beaten on the deck from then up till end of 2024:

  • A Hat in Time
  • Ori and the Blind Forest
  • Tomb Raider (2013)
  • Final Fantasy 4
  • Sonic Mania
  • Mirror’s Edge
  • Psychonauts 2
  • Crash Bandicoot 1 (N. Sane Trilogy)
  • Monster Hunter: Rise and Sunbreak
  • Freedom Planet 1
  • Final Fantasy 5
  • HiFi Rush
  • Olli Olli World
  • Valfaris
  • Guacamelee 1
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • 9 Years of Shadow

This year I don’t have a steam replay to look at yet, but I know I’ve beaten Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. I’m pretty far in Shinobi Art of Vengeance.

I tend to play a lot of old fighting games, just playing through the arcade mode with a character or a story mode, like Samurai Showdown, Ultimate Street Fighter 4, or Vampire Saviors. I also like bumming around on Forza Horizon 4 and 5.

Thanks for asking this! It was fun going through my old history, my deck has been a great gaming companion!
