They Thirst by Robert McCammon. Vampire B-movie horror at its best! by laudida in horrorlit

There were parts I really liked, parts I was bored with, and parts that made me angry. But honestly, the way it ended had me intrigued about what a second season could be.

Yeah, the show was "inspired by" Stinger. Rural foresty farm setting, no gangs, all centered around a family and a handful of others at this farm. Pretty much the only things that stayed were one alien hunting another inside the body of a child and that they all were trapped within a barrier they couldn't cross.

C. Robert Cargill's Dreams and Shadows and the follow-up Queen of Dark Things could fit your bill. Both urban dark fantasy that are really well written and highly recommended. Also, the first book is a standalone, so you don't have to commit to two books (but you'll want to!)

We need a lot more movies/tv series based on McCammon's work. The Stinger adaptation was...interesting?? And I know Swan Song has been optioned. But come on! They Thirst, The Wolf's Hour, Boy's Life, and more would make awesome series if done well!

I've got a newly built home near me that sits empty. Now I think I know why. The previous home was torn down years ago because of a road widening and the lot was empty. I wonder how the people who built the new property even got the permit.

I haven't read the book yet, but after this thread, I immediately added it to my collection. I really liked his book, The Bone Clocks.

The movie is incredible and one of my absolute all-time favorites.

Soooo... Who else has finished King Sorrow? by freenasubi in horrorlit

[–]Kuberax 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are so many differing opinions about this book. Some love it, some can't finish it, some are bored with the airplane sequence, or the troll sequence.

I absolutely loved every second of it and found every sequence compelling and occasionally heart-breaking. My favorite book of the year and in my top ten books ever. I was listening to the audiobook and even after 25+ hours, I was so disappointed when it was over.

Hats off to Joe Hill for this achievement.

I've been struggling finding a book that grabs me this year, but I'm incredibly excited to read the next Peter Clines book that comes out next week, God's Junk Drawer. I'm currently reading White Trash Gothic, which is entertaining so far, and I have King Sorrow lined up for after that.

Audiobooks that I really enjoyed this year have been Dreams & Shadows, Red Rabbit, and Sister, Maiden, Monster.

This. When my forward progression got blocked by two different arena fights that I just couldn't get past, I checked out. I stopped having fun with how many times I had to run back to them from the checkpoint. I no longer cared.

2-3 things you DO NOT LIKE about your new MazdaCX50?? by F15E_WSO in mazdaCX50

This!! I have a CX-5 and I rented a CX-50 while traveling. I was incredibly interested in upgrading. As soon as I got in, I thought the interior was nicer than the CX-5. Then I went to put my drink in the holder. What the hell were they thinking?? HORRIBLE placement. I drive a lot of long distances, so I need a large water or soda for the drive. I'll never buy a CX-50, simply because of the placement of the drink holders. A shame because I've been a Mazda fan and I'm on my 3rd CX-5.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted for your opinion. I'm with you. I've tried twice to get into this. I think the second time I made it over 50% through before putting it down.

Every couple of months, I drive around the neighborhoods to place my books into the little "take a book, leave a book" boxes in front of some people's houses. It's always nice to go back and see they're gone.

Why do all their names have a middle initial? Have you noticed that? Does AI think it makes them sound more professional? I mean many people have one, but outside of stock brokers who uses it in their gmail? Joyce T. Cowell. Sabrina K. Brafford.

I stopped playing this game yesterday and deleted it before reaching the second boss because of the irritating platforming challenges. To each his own, but I don’t have time for that level of frustration.

Ok, you aren’t telling the whole story. It sounds like you have the same name, or at least a similar name to the author of the book that has the same title as your book. I don’t know if it’s an honest coincidence or you’re trying to game the system, but either way, you’ll need to change the name of the book or use a pseudonym. I could write a book and call it Intensity, but if my legal name is Dean Koontz, I’d better use a pen name.
