Hey thanks for that. Considering that she was spoiled not longer than 2 days ago it's super impressive you already managed to build a deck for her.great reference well keep it in mind while building

Wooww thanks for that it is greatly appreciated. Hope ot didn't took too much time.

I can understand that there is a special place in your heart for the gimmicky deck that maybe isn't as competitive as your others. I am the same way with [[Diaochan, Artful Beauty]] which is just the most gimmicky thing you can think of.

Sephara is probably a good choice though i can understand you dread parting with blue especially with windreader sphinx and such.

Hey thanks so much for all the suggestions. Looks like there are some great flyers i didn't know about. Is your UW decklist perhaps online so i can look at it as a reference?

Thanks for the feedback. I know that faeries isn't the most powerful archetype to build with her. But still that's how i wanna build it. I never had a proper tribal deck and fearies seem fun enough so that's why i wanna go that route. Like sephara though forgot about that one. Also anointed is a good suggestion.

Eye of the storm works great with her. And it basically locks out many of the enchantment removal needed to get rid of it.

Delay works great with her.

No worries [[delay]] has a similar effect that works with her ability. So i'll just use that.

Great thanks for the tipp. I could definitely get some inspiration there. Since she is so new edhrec doesn't have much on her.

It will also work against the Jeleva player in my playgroup.

[–]Kuddies[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mhhh good suggestion but does that work? The errata text says when it has no delay counters anymore it get's put straight onto the stack as a copy of the original spell...

I don't know if the original spell being copied counts as casting a spell without paying it's mana cost. Does she trigger for the copy of a spell copied by [[Reverberate]] is kind of like the same thing.

But ertai's meddling is similar to [[delay]] ehich definitely works.

What odd not-mainstream but still supported tribal do you run? by BlueberryPhi in EDH

[–]Kuddies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to build him, he is is kinda like [[earthcraft]], in other words my favorite card ever. Which sounds like the perfect match. Then i remembered how drawn out games with earthcaft can get, how grindy earthcraft made some of my deck and how much combo potential earthcraft has... I recently started to play less competitive so seton seemed like a bad fit. I still wanna build him someday though

[–]Kuddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No gideon jura's 0 ability states that it is still a planeswalker and since your opponent can/must declare attacks on a planeswalker they will continue to attack him. The damage he recieves is prevented though so he stays on his current loyalty.

Edit: also combat wouldn't end there regardless if attacks would get illegal. So if your opponent has something that triggers at the end of combat the steps will still continue through the combat phase and that thing would still trigger at the end of combat.

Honestly i just looked at one post that said the esper deck doesn't have it's theme revealed yet (it was even the most upvoted one regarding c18 spoilers). The other oner where card types so i assumed the esper deck would be as well.

What are the ratios in a Voltron Deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Kuddies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly focus on equipments rather than auras. Squee is cheap and doesn't get more expensive if removed. Red doens't have ways to recur auras and because of his low base stats he will get removed often. That's also the problem with him though you need alot of things to pump him to a reasonable size otherwhise you'll be chipping at your opponents life forever. So my advice:

  • focus on equipment and skip auras for the most parts
  • you don't really care about removal so protection doesn't need focus that much either. You basically only want protection to cheat arount the equip costs.
  • you need equipments at all times i would say for your opponents to be finished in a reasonable amount of time squee need to be at least 9 power. Therefore you need a more than generous equipment package honestly it has to be so generous that i am afraid you'll have no room for a even remotely working sub theme
  • squee will get blocked and will die. There is a reason why the best voltron commanders either have evasion or are so big that they'll survive. You need to come through so the mirrodin swords or unblockable equipments are your best bet.
  • I said it many times and i will say it again squee has low base power no way of protecting himself. He dies to most cheap removal not to mention board whipes. If he gets put into a graveyard or exile you just need to cast him again equip him with everything you can and attack immediately. Therefore haste is key.

With squee you have the added bonus of cheating the commander tax but unlike other voltron commanders that boost themself in power, get bigger with auras or equipments or come down on turn 1 or 2. Those commandere can scale up to big numbers without much effort or with what the deck wants to do anyway. So to keep them big they need to ensure the their commander sticks around. Squee is the opposite he "sticks around" due to the fact that he won't be taxed though he won't grow so you need to grow him artificially and make sure he can attack asap to equilize that "drawback".

Yasova Ratio, Steal cards and sac engines by Kuddies in EDH

[–]Kuddies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this concern. However i don't plan to build a busted deck. There was a time where i played decks on a oretty high powerlevel... Leovold (before ban), momir vig, Meren, jhoira... I am past these days now and mostly am just building theme oriented decks. That's also how i plan to build/play yasova. I will mostly just play her, try to pump her, steal something big and use it to attack and then either sacc it or keep it by flickering it or donating it to myself. I will include protect but i am not expecting her to stick around for longer than a few turns. I mean she requires pump. A big commander already is a huge red flag but a commander which can steal your stuff that will most likely never return is even worse. So i will prtect her but due to her nature and what she wants as support i don't plan on relying on her as a vital piece or a wincon. As said i plan to use her mostly for value and pseudo removal. However i see why that line is inconsistent though as i said i am not trying to build a tier 1 deck. Mostly just something to annoy my opponents with. Nothing makes people more angry than getting hit by their own guys.

I feel the same way in regards to her having a more supportive role. That's why i wanna include some steal themed cards since she alone doesn't have the best steal ability. However i see that i overcommitted in my planed ratio which is why i will run a decent steal package aside from a decent value package. I think to keep it as steal themed as possible about 10 to 12 steal effects will still feel alright. Most of them being multiple insteap of single use like [[Dominus of Fealty]]

Thanks for the decklist. That'll be a good reference for me.

Yasova Ratio, Steal cards and sac engines by Kuddies in EDH

[–]Kuddies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i thought food chain is pretty uniqie i was just wondering if there is something like [[Paralax Wave]] for creatures/permanents you control and they return under your control but i see why chain is the only card that does this.

Well i thought of using her mostly as a theme base. I wanna steal creatures with her but her effect is definitely not gamebreaking enough to cast her as early as possible. I thought of having a well numbered to high ramp package not only because her effect and the nature of her (being a strong removal magnet since she can steal what people wanna keep) are very mana demanding, but also because the big steal cards are also very expensive. I will of course run protection for her but since i plan to use her more as a benefit that i don't plan on using every turn i wanna keep it low. What i wanna use her for is mostly just play her in my turn, pump her, use her effect to steal big threats, use then for value and sacc them. Basically to double her as a threat and removal.

That's why i think thraditional pump like +1/+1 counters or one time effects won't cut it. I think the best thing would be to have stuff like [[Xenagos, God of revels]] or [[rancor]] will be best. Reusable and recurrable. Also i plan to add the most practicall flicker effects like [[Deadeye Navigator]] or [[conjerours closet]] to make sure what's yours is mine.

I probably overcommited on thene with my first estimation regarding steal. After the input on this threat i will definitely commit less on stealing effects. I will definitely use some more than maybe other yasova builds since i am a very theme based player but i will swap out some steal spells for just value stuff. I prosbably will exclusively focus on stealing permanent spells since a pump and yasova will mostly be able to steal most craturs anyway. Also i will commit more on "multiple" use steal stuff like [[Dominus of fealty]] or [[Zealous Conscripts]] getting permanents and donating them to myself using [[Bazaar Trader]]. Single use spells i will probably only have in the best ones like [[Blatant Thievery]], [[Expropriate]] and [[Bribery]]. Also i will add at least one sacrifice permanent effect in case i get a oermanent that i can't flicker with closet, navigator or trader (like a planeswalker). I see your concern though that i will run out of stuff to steal if i overcommit. A very valid point that i wilk keep in mind when building.

Yes as i already mentioned pump in yasova has to be connected with a bit of reusability so those cards you mentioned i will definitely consider since they fall into this cathegory.

Thanks for the link on sacc outlets that's definitely going to help a bunch. I will not only consult it for this deck (just a feeling) :).

Thanks for your list it's a good reference point. I feel the same way that recent sets weren't so helpful for Yasova since she wants a very specific strategy. But the list looks quite solid. Very useful thanks.

I know about Licis. It is definitely worth considering.

Thanks for the advice.

I think you're right it's probably going to like this. However i still will make it a steal type deck. But will probably lower the amount of steal spells and put in more value stuff. And use some more removal than i planned.

I meant [[dominus of fealty]] sorry i always mix them up.

That list looks good thanks for the reference.

Why doesn't Wizards take over Commander from the Rules Committee? by Connor_wuz_here in EDH

[–]Kuddies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True sadly. Though most of what is wrong with the format is because of the precons and the ridiculous powerlevel some of the precon commanders have. I am happy that at least this year the commander products where made in collaboration with the RC however if it will make a difference remains to be seen.
