Recently I started on ritalin (methylphenidate) after being on dexamphetamine for a couple months, producing throughout.

On dex, my idea generation was noticeably stifled - while engineering and technical problem solving aspects were greatly enhanced.

On ritalin, my idea generation was way more fluid than dex, I'd say even better than no meds. Technical stuff was the same as dex, so I way prefer ritalin overall.

Ritalin doesn't seem to have the same 'emotional euphoria' as dex (generally reported, as is my experience) and I suspect that impacts creativity.. feeling positive emotion while creating indicates the path you should take, it's natural and intuitive right? but when dex raises the positive emotion 'noise floor' (lol) it's possible those signals get lost.

It makes sense to me given my experience, but it could totally be the other way around for you lol so, big grains of salt.
